There's a game I remember I think playing as a kid called Major League baseball. I'm pretty sure that's the name of it and I loved it

I didn't know Little League baseball was basically a re-skinned Baseball Stars. I might have tried it. Baseball Stars still holds up.

Bad News Baseball is such a gem. I played the dog out of it, and Tecmo Baseball with my Dad growing up. Tecmo was on fire on the NES. Any of their sports games were top notch. I always felt safe buying a Tecmo game regardless of the subject matter.

Baseball Stars was my favorite NES baseball game! For computer I loved Micro League Baseball for my Atari 800xl

Funny thing is the sounds of the flyball seems to have been used by every baseball NES game. Also interesting is how many games are basically RBI Baseball with tweaks.

they were great but it could take 2 hours to play a full 9 inning game. cut into creature double feature and reruns of brady bunch

Baseball Simulator on the NES and SNES is so fun. You can play the games without the powerups if you don't want them.

Bases Loaded II was way better.

Great list. My favorite game is Baseball stars. 2nd fav is rbi baseball. Never played RBI 2. The problem with Baseball stars 2 was it didn’t carry over any of the teams from the first one.

In regards to Bad News Baseball, Tecmo’s mascot back then was a rabbit so that’s why he was the umpire. Also at the password screen hit A or B (forget which) & he farts air bubbles in the hot tub. The guy at the end of the HR cutscene you show is one of the wrestlers from Tecmo World Wrestling which also released around the same time, hence the cameo. In regards to RBI Baseball, I will always be a defender of RBI 2 over 1. All of your defense complaints are gone with 2 & there’s still enough offense IMO. My top 5 is pretty much yours (I’m a Bases Loaded 2 guy over 1,) but if there was an honorable mention I would say Legends of the Diamond where it did have the Hall of Fame license & you could play with the Hall of Famers.

Tecmo sports games were so far ahead of everyone else.

What's crazy about these games is how you could very easily have a score that looks more like a football score than a baseball score

Great list!!!!!! 2 and 1 in that order were/are my absolute favorites. I remember as a kid going to play out baseball game. Pausing the game and turning off the TV so my parents thought I turned it all off.

Personally loved Tecmo Baseball

Al Pedrique is that national league player. He is as a shortstop mostly for the pirates. Not sure why he was on that all star team. I guess cause Ozzie smith was in the cardinals in that game.

RBI Baseball may look silly but it's extremely fun to play especially against another person.

RBI Baseball had possibly one of the most iconic rumors of any game of this era. It is said that you can break a stadium light if your homerun hits it just right. I remember my friends and I would get so excited when a ball was gonna hit one of the lights. Sadly, we never got to see it, if it does indeed exist. Has anyone ever seen this easter egg?

Baseball Stars was my addiction. I remember one time I played my best game against the American Dreams 3-1 and I was the California Angels. I sweat so hard during that game because the American Dreams was tough.

I miss this time in games where companies would take a chance making something different. At one point in time I collected every NES baseball game and I believe there is over 20. I have since sold them, but it truly was the best system for fun baseball games. You can add Dusty Diamond's all star softball, Base Wars, and baseball simulator 1.000 to the list of the most fun baseball games of all time.

Al Pedrique is the player you (or anyone else) couldn’t name. I only knew who he was because I collected baseball cards. The dude sucked so the programmers either put him in as a joke or he was related to someone that made the game.

RBI baseball with the players names sold me as a kid. This was definitely my favorite.

I looked that guy up and I STILL don’t know who he is.
