Mark 9 - The Kingdom Having Come with Power
Give it up....your ancient book written by cruel, ignorant, misogynistic and highly superstitious goat herders, that didn't even know where the sun went at night, is ancient gobbledygook and time has passed it by. If one knows the difference between right and wrong you no longer need religion!
Paul said, "Don't grow weary in doing good because, in due time you will reap, if you don't lose heart." But to be honest, I don't think its more scripture we need (did I really just type that?). We know the book and we know the author - and we know that we are not saved by our works but by His sacrifice. However, when it comes to good works, we're terribly inadequate to the task. So many people need so much from us and, after a while, we just get tired of being the strong one. It's OK to say no. Every need is not as immediate; every needy soul is not as deserving. When Jesus healed the Lame Man, he CHOSE to do so. Remember, there were, in that place, a multitude of sick folks. Jesus healed one. How do we know which one? Prayer and saying no to the many may help us find the compulsion to help the few. (Man, I needed to hear that!) Thanks for the question and I love you too.
