Hurricane repairs underway in ENGLEWOOD, FL
If only all shinglers would take there time nailing you wouldn't need that stupid strip. It's called good workmanship goes a long way...
looks great, curious on the iso depth in that area, seems you guys use a lot
Some areas it’s 6”. We needed to add a considerable slope for drainage on this roof.
Your hero r@pes women? Hulk is a scumbag too.
(They) took a shot at my hero?
Hmmmmm….Interesting
The nail strip is also designed to make nails leak proof
That’s great
Yeah but removal u don't want it that strong lol
It will be a project for sure.
Seems like someone let the tare set up 😂
There is no tar on the actual strip. We let the same amount of time pass with all the samples.
They are meant to rip to keep shingle companies and roofers employed 😊
That’s a good one. Lol 😂
I can see how you glue is stronger and a lot better quality then other different brands but if there was a leak around a pipe jack or in a valley how would you be able to repair it without out ruining the shingles around the area?
Good point. We haven’t had any trouble with this.
Owens cprning has he strongest strip of them all similar to this if not the identical brsnd
Both Owens and Tamko have great products.
So which shingle is this..? No1 says which 1...
It is Tamko Titan
If it ain’t malarkey shingle than I don’t want it
Yes, I heard they are great for areas with a lot of hail
@@roofingbyballcontracting central Texas here and we see a lot of it
Owens corning is the best
We love Owens as well as Tamko and GAF. All great products.
Gaf are shit
Since when are shingles nailed to 2x4s thought?
doesnt matter what they nail it to for the demo, the shingle rips off and the nails stay in the plywood when you pull it like that
@@ericpatterson6787 nails pull out of plywood much easier than a 2x4. A 2x4 is a lot denser and nails penetrate all the way through plywood
@@koreygregory527dude you're really reaching. Don't reply going "no I'm not" because at this point, you are.
True
It’s a pretty accurate demonstration with a 2 by 4 or plywood.
That’s cool and all but how about you just test the shingle as it’s intended to be used. You could have a strong mesh holding the nails on, but if your sealants suck, and the matting sucks, maybe even the thickness of the asphalt sucks, then none of that matters. Test the shingle in conditions for its intended use
If you look up Tamko Titan you will see many other tests. This was just a quick demonstration I decided to video at one of our sales trainings.
Iko's best shingle hands down
We all have our opinions for different reasons I’m sure. Keep on with the one you believe in.
Owens corning bud all day Fuck gaf God damn shit
I can't believe GAF passed this, wow. How on earth did they allow those wall flashings to go on old shitty tar coated walls? Those wrinkles on a Fully adhered are completely unacceptable, really is the wild west for roofing in the US.
Thanks for your input. We passed with flying colors.
@@roofingbyballcontracting Good to hear, ill have to use this video as a point of reference going forward with our GAF rep and reference many of these things that should be passable.
I tried ripping the sure nail cloth strip off of an Owen’s Corning shingle the other day and that sh!+ wouldn’t tear it just hurt my hand
It really works
@@roofingbyballcontracting Yeah definitely helps.. it just sucks if you have to do a repair or tear any shingles off for any reason because they are hard to get apart
Perfect for texaa tornados.
Amen
Yea but old shingles have a tar strip that when overlayed on another shingle it adheres to the other shingle so wind can't get under once they have been in the sun for a day your not getting the shingles apart
Lmk guess 140 per square. Vs 40
That's a cool strength test. And it's proving that part of the shingle is stronger but shingles are ninety percent nailed into plywood not 2×4. So That means if the wind is strong enough it'll blow the nails out of the plywood and has nothing to do with the strength of the shingle.
Exactly
No dude wind doesn't blow nails out lol
This is accurate with the shingles being manufactured with these strips for added strength the nail in the plywood is more likely to be the failure.
If only the wind load was being applied in the same orientation that they are in this test. But it's not.
@@DurzoBlunts true but either way go watch a pull test on oc, the fail point is the nail the shingle usually doesn’t rip on the 2 end nails the shingle stays together and all nails pull out
How much more money am I paying per shingle to save the insurance company money
We offer it for the same price as a standard shingle
Suit dummies can make anything look good. That’s why there is people that sell shit for a living.
Dats going be bitch to tear off in 30 years
Can’t you just lay the new stuff on top of ?
Nope, the old faults will re surface basically, and ur not fixing any issues, most of the time when changing a roof it's been long enough some sheeting might need to be redone, along with its not the right way as told to me by ye Olde heads@@doombuggyc6628
@@doombuggyc6628well ur gunna have to remove two layers
@@doombuggyc6628i think 1 better not... I hate that shit
If it lasts 60yrs
None are good shit product
Th am for your input
He put the first one through single thicknes what a faje video
Not really - come out and show us how it’s done. I’ll video you.
@@roofingbyballcontracting i would love to. Lol
So what’s the brand? Name?
Surenail by Owen's and corning
@@alansiedsma2165a Tamko representative showcasing OC? Nah
Tamko Titan
I could easily pull that shingle off. Come on.
Give it a shot. I’ll set it up.
A LOT of bubbling in the TPO. Poor application and welding.
Thank you for the input. All the work was done per manufacturer specifications and passed all inspections with flying colors. This will stand the test of time.
@@roofingbyballcontracting I hope so because a lot of effort went into it.
Is the nail zone hitting both laminates of shingle?
I am not sure, but if you’d like, I can get you in touch with the manufacturer. This demonstration was performed at one of our trainings at my request. I had noticed all of the Tamco Titan roofs we installed had zero hurricane damage after Hurricane Ian, so I asked the representative to come and explain why. His demonstration was the response to my request.
What is the price difference
We don’t charge any additional- it’s a Free upgrade for our customers.
👏👏👏
We love your product.
All that and its wind resistance warranty is still 30 mph worse than a tamko product. OC makes a great shingle but ill never understand the nail strip. Seems like a marketing gimmick.
It is great technology…..I’ve seen the results. During Hurricane Ian, the only roof that had no issues were the Titan Roofs.
@@roofingbyballcontracting best price to performance shingle in the market if you can get past their reputation.
Helpful in high wind areas. But that GAF shingle will hold in non gale force
True. In Florida, we need to prepare for those high winds.
What happened to the music?
I will look into it.
seems like a lot of your guys spend much of the time looking at the view
Good point….LOL
Great job on a tough project. Wondering - why were the 5 gallon buckets staged across the entire roof? Was that part of the pre plan for coverage? Also, what is that power equipment the guy is pushing all over the gravel that couldn't be removed manually?
I believe the buckets were used for ballast and the machine was used to cut through the layers of tar and insulation. Thanks for the input.
no forklift for the bundles of insulation on the ground? Just back labor? Lighter than I thought.
Yes, all manual at the ground. It’s light
FUNNY, HE USED THICKER NAILS ON TAMKO. JUNK
Thanks for the input, but that’s fake news.
You can't fool him, but you fooled me for sure.^^
Hahahahha
He picked up the same cup he picked up at the start. And he'd probably have done it a third time. It doesn't even look like he really understands the game, he's just picking up cups because he knows there's something under at least one of them.
Thanks for the input.
Try using a darker cup, those are basically see through
Lol
He went for the closest one to his hand? He didnt use intelligence lol
You're assuming he did. From what I can tell, he was using his peripheral vision half of the time. He even looked away at the end and still remembered which one had the red cup.
LOL - that’s a possibility.
Sir we should properly clean and hold our rover flat with pressure wile welding
Thanks for the input.
Mine does the exact same thing 😂
They are so funny!
Where are the white people saying they are taking their jobs nope don't see them there
They are hard to find for sure.
Bro! Why not keep those for a different client! Thòse spanish tiles i want añd are expensive in Cali! 6 dollars a tile!
Come and get them!!!! LOL
