I disagree with the job of the Grand Lodge. The purpose of the Grand Lodge is to make Lodges, so those Lodges can make Masons, and those Masons can petition the Grand Master for a Warrant, and for Grand Lodge to make a new Lodge... repeat
Grand Lodges are the problem period. Even if the subordinate lodge wanted to take this approach…they cannot for the above stated reason. At least in my experience. I’ve come so close to walking away from Masonry many times because of “social club” masonry.
Bro @danielparsons8908 - Have you heard of the Grand Lodge paradox? Lodges say that Grand Lodges doesn't do enough, Grand Lodges does something and wants Lodges to do it, Lodges "go away we are Private". What most don't realise is, Grand Lodge is just a group of lodges within the same jurisdiction. Lodges created Grand Lodge so that Grand Lodge can create Lodges, Lodges make masons, who in turn petition Grand Lodge to form a new lodge. Truth is, if you actually read your Constitution and no just take the words of the PM at face value, you will find this is all possible
@@DailyMasonicProgress Brother I can see your point, maybe in a perfect world. In my experience we make members, we don’t make masons. And the esoteric information needed to properly develop the candidate is shunned. Seems to me we have lost sight of our purpose. I hate to say that, and wish it wasn’t the case. I didn’t join the lodge to talk for 45 minutes over what kind syrup we’re going to use at the next pancake breakfast .🤦♂️ We “make good men better”. How? What’s the first step? How is the first stone laid? Conversations that have substance. Unheard of in my experience.
@@danielparsons8908 Didn't you join Freemasonry to be amongst like-minded men? You know there is a solution to the problems you raise. Find 20 other Masons who all have the same problem and want to solve it. Then, petition the Grand Master for a Warrant to start your own lodge and implement those practices you want to have. Esoteric is a misunderstood term, it just means specialised knowledge. But that knowledge is all there, it's in the text of the ceremonies and in the sectional lectures. All the answers are in the ceremonies, we just need to interrogate the meaning of the words in the ritual and critically consider the practices for what they mean, teach and instruct. But I will say this, which is a point I agree with GL Ohio and Bro Daniel on, we make masons by performing the three-degree ceremonies. That should be every lodge's fixed calendar. First Degree, Second Degree, Third Degree, repeat. As for Education and Instruction, and I mean proper education that applies to our character and our everyday life; use a business meeting where you don't have to be in aprons. Meet in study groups. Get together outside of the at one night a month, and use those to build deep friendships, learn, develop and grow together. When you have 4 "meetings" (in 4 different formats) and go through 11 different elements of content, you will find Freemasonry becomes what you'd hope it would be Fraternally Bro Darren
why not have committees to answer specific issues within the Freemasonry?
Why teach a man to fish so he could eat for a lifetime? Why not teach a man to teach others how to teach others to fish so that all men could eat for the rest of eternity? The efforts spent on one man could ripple to all mankind more efficiently, perhaps too efficiently in the such that, if all men were to fish there would be no more fish left in the ocean thus pointing out a scarcity problem and perhaps presenting a lack of innovative problem-solving initiatives on a fundamental level? I'm not in but I would love to know these mystical "secrets" or knowledge in order to create a more effective system if it is to improve the universe and solve those areas which could fatally threaten it. It appears that Freemasons are having a difficult time recruiting perhaps due to current restrictions in its framework.... if so, why does it appear to me that change is seemingly taboo within your fraternity to resolve dire issues? why so secretive if your Freemasonry knowledge is to benefit mankind? Why not open a Freemason Univeristy? is a potential future mason selected only by the favorable appeal of these all-fateful Freemasons who are holding the key that could open the door to others in order to also promote the potential for a better world like you do, these men imprisoned within their own perceptions and perspectives and who are universally tainted by an unalienable individual or collective bias tamed to a certain degree? Isn't the only thing to fear is fear itself? Sounds like lodges are upheld to show work to a certain minimum standard and that the Grand Lodge is alike to a board of directors setting the framework, and the rules, identifying specific results or goals that need to be achieved, and to not mingle in doing the job of the executives, aka the Lodges, to prevent the potential for conflicts of interest, who devise the plans and make it happen, revising, and improving upon them. How is the Freemasonry adopting technological advances into their operations (other than RUclips videos) to further bring efficiency in this forever changing world? How is the Grand Lodge designed to bring forth changes within its own framework to ensure sustainability and effective efficiency? What I enjoyed about this video the most is its beng a good example of integrity, sense of pride and excellence in work performed, being a supportive and helpful member of an assemblage working towards a goal, and always questioning the status quo for the sake of bringing things to a higher state of coherence.
