Yesterdays Garage shows some the finer internal combustion machines of the past. My new hobby is vintage motorcycles so there will be a bunch of that. I will also ad some of my old farm tractor videos from time to time.
Where The Pavement Ends. SURPRISE !!
Peaceful cruise turns exciting when the pavement suddenly ends in rural Georgia. Thought the Kawasaki Z125 and I was going down for a minute. The GoPro makes it look easy.

This is cool explore of the old Zebulon school in Zebulon Georgia. This school was built in 1926 and was abandoned by the mid 1970's. This is another of my series of the Z125 adventures. I'm putting some miles on the Kawasaki during these adventures.

Barber Small Bore Cancelled Opinions and footage

This is my opinion on the cancelling of Barber Small Bore. 2024 was the last year of one of the greatest motorcycle events that I know of. Everybody talks about the grass getting torn up. At first I didn't really see it, but after editing my video and watching it, I noticed some areas I didn't see while there. Mr Barber is very picky about his grass. The last half of the video shows the damage ...

This is a ride through Haralson Georgia. It is a long forgotten little town that is making a come back. The Walking Dead series was filmed here in several episodes. Enjoy the ride on my 1975 Honda CB550 Four through this quite little town.

My 1975 Honda XL100 Ain't Built for That
Careful you don't spit ya heart out scary
It was scary. The video doesn’t show just how squirrelly the bike was.
When I first picked up my ‘76 I rode from Oregon to Washington. Most comfortable ride I’ve ever experienced. Previous ownership were crotch-rockets. Traded speed for comfort
I love the ride of mine. I would love to ride one cross country one day.
One more reason I regret not going and seeing you guys, but we had a great family vacation that weekend. Seeing this video I think the lower camping may have been what did it in alot of big vehicles on very wet grass. I thought that Power Wheels downhill was a bad idea when I saw it announced. Then I saw the video of it and how it ran out on the concrete pad at a sharp angle and thought thats a really bad idea. I don't know man I'll miss it. Theres gotta be enough rednecks in the south to find a big venue, not as cool of one, but something. My vote would be Texas, that would get it centrally located for most of the participating states. But, I know the southeast is pretty big for car and bike stuff. Thanks for posting this, we have had a busy year. My oldest daughter you met, Ashlyn is having some health problems and my brain has not been on anything fun. Were in the ER yet again right now as I'm watching your video. It's honestly a relief. Take care.
U talking about barber motorsports
Small Bore at Barber Motor Speedway
Love your videos, currently saving up $ to buy a blue Honda CB550 Four (dream bike). Any advice on what to look out for? Also, I am slightly concerned about the brakes and safety of driving an older bike in aggressive traffic. Thank you for your videos!
The more original the bike is the better. The more it has been modified over the years the more problems you will have. Most of my cars, trucks and motorcycles were built in the 1980's. The brakes are not as good as a new vehicle. Always leave a little more room for stopping and drive more conservative in heavy traffic. The brakes are not bad but not as good as modern vehicles. Remember in the early 1970's the govt mandated a 55 mph speed limit across the USA. These vehicles were designed around that a little more than now when the speed limit is 70 +
let's fucking goooooo
Oh yea
Nice video. Wish more people would just do a riding explore video like this. Up in PA here we have Centralia. They accidentally set the coal on fire underground and the goverment bought everyone out but 3 or 4 people. Bunch of roads with no houses. A temp. fix for your squeaking brake. Rub a pencil on the rotor. The graphite works for awhile. Large kids pencil or carpenters pencil works best.
I have heard of Centralia, very cool story. Stick around I have a bunch of explore videos coming up. I will have more info about the towns and history also. Might redo this one since it is so close to the house. I fixed my brakes, got a new rotor, caliper, lines, and pads. works great now, and no more squeaking.
Nice 550! Ive got a 92 750 Nighthawk I'm running around on. Does hiway fine. Here in PA they're adding a couple rondabouts here and there. They're fine if only one lane. In Wisconsin, they love them 2 lanes entering and exiting, and then 1 every 100 yds. 3 or 4 in a row. Hate them! If you don't know where you're going forget it! If traffic is heavy you just sit. We'd plot on Google to avoid them. Couldn't everywhere so some places we never got to. The newer, shopping, motel areas were polluted with them. Just Google maps Oshkosh, WI.
They are adding a multi lane roundabout a couple of miles from my house. Honestly it will be an improvement over what they have now. They one now is the size of a donut. The problem is nobody around here knows how to use a roundabout. They think its a four way stop. I love the early 90's nighthawks. Awesome looking bike.
Is this the navy blue 737-200 that's parked at KFFC?
No, this was another 737-200 that was over there. I’m not with that group anymore so not sure how much I can say about it.
I thought you were supposed to keep it at or under 4k rpm for the first 150 miles?
You supposed to, but that is ridiculously slow. Unless you live in a crowded city I don’t think it’s possible.
@@yesterdaysgarage I agree completely! I have the same bike and just got to 350 mi. tried going 4k or under and was impossible 🤣
Love riding my '71 CB500 Four for the very reasons you mentioned. It is the perfect therapy.
👍
Was at a biker's outfit store recently and commented on a couple wanting an intercom: "I wouldn't put anything like that in my helmet, not even for a thousand bucks each time I close the strap" ..... they looked like a true car-driving couple, not understanding a bit of "motorcycling" as You describe it (I ride for 44 years this summer). There are these and those I reckon.
That sounds like something I would say. 😂
Started 2 years ago at 39, got 2 bikes now, I don’t put a ton of miles on them but I definitely like to ride at least once or twice a week, and I also like no music, good times.
Good way to clear your mind.
Riding my motorcycles helps me concentrate on the moment and nothing else. It's a great way to clear your head.
I Agree
i agree, plenty of great used bikes for cheap, japanese bikes very reliable, parts available , i myself ride a 98 R1200C BMW i got for $3,600 with 19,000 miles on it, im 64 and been riding since 1972 when i delivered newspapers on my Honda 50 minitrail, never looked back, i wish i still had the blue/white yamaha RD250 2 stroke from high school. what a blast that bike was!
Wow. You started riding in the best times for motorcycles. Late 60's and on had some of the coolest bikes.
your bike sounds sweet
Thanks a lot.
I'm with you man , no radio. Be it a single,a twin, four or v-twin, "stereo by motor". You like your 4, I like my v-twin. Just ride.🙂
I have heard so pretty good sounding twins. Heard a Harley go by the other day, not sure what it was but it sounded good. Not over the top loud like normal. Glad you liked it.
Although a SOHC 750K four is still on my wish list, I have owned 2 Nighthawk 700S. 3 Nighthawk CB650SC, and 4 Nighthawk CB750! If you're not sure or undecided as to what to get... Get a Nighthawk and you'll never regret it even if you switch to something else later! 92-03 Honda Nighthawk CB750 is the best of the bunch when you include cost and parts availability. It's a Goldilocks bike!
I agree. I have always wanted the CB700sc in the black with blue accents. That is one beautiful bike. Nighthawks are a lot of bike for the money.
Sounded pretty sweet there at Hwy speed...! What a Classic! Perrdy too...👏
Thanks. Not as stable as a new bike on the interstate but still keeps up with everybody.
Sounded pretty sweet there at Hwy speed...! What a Classic! Perrdy too...👏
Indeed!
Good times. 2 wheels and some nice road. Show this to those who i can't quite get the point across about motorcycling... 👌👍
I wish somebody would have showed me how much fun it was years ago. Nothing feels like riding a good motorcycle on some less traveled roads.
Couldn't agree more. I live in Vegas and it's wall to wall people here and every light is red so the time. I'm 56 and I've just started riding a couple years ago. I didn't understand why bikes are so quiet these days. When you add ear protection, you can't hear anything. I didn't like Harley's so I guess I have to pay for aftermarket exhaust on top of the cost of the bike. I don't understand why people listen to music when they ride. The engine makes it's own music which a huge part of riding. Stay safe.
Yes. It is all about getting away for me.. I listen to the radio at work or in the car. When I get on the bike I want to leave all that behind and just be one with my machine.
It's about being in the moment. Love riding.
👍
Absolutely, nothing better than a classic inline 4, 79 CB750K myself
They are nice. I love the 1970's and 1980's era of motorcycles.
Been a rider since 1977. I don't care what type of bike I ride, I love all of them.
We need to be one big family. I never get tired of the feeling of cruising down the road.
Ain't it so....! Helps the Soul.
Strange thing is that four-cylinder cars are dismissed as being 'boring' but 4-lunger motorbikes are considered extra-cool. "Vehicle People" are a weird lot. I know, I used to play with Wankel rotary engines :)
I know. I have never liked the four cylinder car sound. Always been a V8 guy. But bikes are different. The 3 and four cylinder bikes sound awesome. Maybe it is the fact they rev so high and the camshaft profile. Let's not even talk about the Honda CBX1050 six cylinder. WOW. 😮
That's why you never see a motorcycle parked outside a therapist's office, riding IS therapy! I've been riding for 40 years, owned too many motorcycles to count over those years. When I have to ride so defensively that I don't enjoy it anymore, that'll be the time to give it up. Hope that doesn't happen for a few more years though. My current bikes are a 2018 Aprilia Dorsoduro 900, and a 2023 Moto Guzzi V7 Special Edition.
You got a nice collection of bikes. I live in a semi rural area. If I head North I have to ride so defensively I hate it. If I ride south it’s very relaxing and fun. As people keep moving my way it is not as fun some days. But it’s better than a therapist.
I just started last year at 56 years old, and I wish I'd started 40 years ago!! I ride a 2023 Honda Rebel 1100T DCT.
That’s great. I love hearing these stories. Ride safe.
That's usually what happens in terms of "why didn't I start earlier?" 😁 I (sixty recently) do (legally) ride for 44 years now, never had less than two bikes and own "a couple" these days, did commute in all kinds of weather when I still worked no matter having to attend to some fancy job and still would have started even earlier than I actually did (I tend to omit the less legal riding years) just for the feeling.
It was nice to meet you this weekend. Love your XL100! I need to finish up my XL100.
Good to meet you also. I wanted to talk to more people but I was chasing my 14 year old around. He wanted to spend his time in the stunt lot doing wheelies. Nice channel you have, just subscribed. I would love to get an old XL350 to explore the smoky mountains.
@yesterdaysgarage We subscribed to your channel also. Hope to see you around again sometime.
That’s a good sounding cb💪
Thanks a lot.
Hey my sporty sounds great haha! Ride safe BRRRUTTHHUURRRR putt putt fart fart
Love it. I like giving the Harley guys a hard time. My sister actually rides a Harley.
Just got a FZ07 last week at 34. Absolutely love it.
Nice bike. Stay safe out there.
Great ride Guy! Been on and off bikes since 12 years old for the same reasons. Cruising new roads, enjoying the ride, and finding stuff. All miles sans headphones. Listen to the radio in the car or at work. Hampering of ones senses of awareness while riding seems like a bad choice to me. 43, blessed with internal dialog.
I agree. Great comment.
New subscriber here. Thanks for sharing the video.
Thankyou
I just started riding myself a few months ago, also late 40s, and for the exact same reasons and results you describe. Anyone thinking about it should just do it. I agonized over it for several years before taking the plunge, and only wished I had done it sooner. Do take some time and sit on many bikes, and not just for a second or two, really feel them under you and all the way around. Try ones you might not even think you would like or want, that's how I found the one that fit me perfectly yet unexpectedly, and couldn't be happier with my choice.
Sometimes the bike you don't even think about fits the best. I sat on a Kawasaki Ninja 650 the other day. Could not believe how great it fit me.
What bike is that ?
1975 Honda CB550 Four. Nice little four cylinder with good amount of horsepower.
@@yesterdaysgarage , dang ! Have you had it very long ?
I have had it about a year and a half. This was my first street bike. I was told don't get an antique motorcycle for a first bike, but I have loved it.
@@yesterdaysgarage , nice
Being a noob biker at the ripe age of almost 64 can I ask what bike you've got playing that sweet tune?! 😊
1975 Honda CB550 Four. These old antique Honda four cylinders sound awesome. Thanks for the comment.
My old 360 enduro with the sound of the 2 stroke is great. Just out riding dirt roads. Really rural out my way. Watch out for horse crap from all the Amish. I just moved up to a Buell Ulysses. Need to get more of all terrain tires on it. Roads suck here and have to go down dirt roads for work.
I need a bigger enduro. Was kind of looking at a 1970's Honda XL350. Love being able to go on and off road.
Great information! Really helped me out. Beginner rider here. This makes cornering so much easier.
Thanks, I'm going to do some more videos like this soon.
Did you stop and if so what was it like??
Every now and then I'll do it. Usually after not riding for a while. You will just notice one day you are more comfortable on the bike and more relaxed. That is when you know you are getting better.
I love it! ❤
Thanks, I wish I had not sold it. It was fun.
Bought a 75 Honda CB125S which has a tach. With a red line of 9500 I saw 7500 to go 50MPH so yeah it can do 60 at Red Line but with no more revs. I bought it so that I will have a Fun Small motorcycle to ride off into retirement that can be easily moved around when it needs to be pushed. It weighs 213 pounds with a full tank of gasoline.
These smaller old bikes are a lot of fun. Easy to maneuver and move around.
WOW that's AWESOME!! this goes pretty fast actually i thought it would go slower in the beginning but i think this is pretty good!
It does pretty good considering it is a 125. Most comfortable around 45 mph but it will get to 60.
Expected McQueen
I have seen that a lot here lately. 😂

If it doesn't make sense it is doing its job. The algorithm is constantly changing. I have noticed though in the last year is they are going around and promoting small creators or videos with low view counts. The thing that keeps videos getting promoted to new viewers is viewer engagement and view time (how much they watch, if they skip ahead & rewatch the video). Best of luck in your endeavors mate.
Thanks. I have some new ideas. Just waiting for the weather to cooperate with my off days.

@@yesterdaysgarage You can thank the hundreds of thousands trying to grift and steal. It's sort of like spam filters; you can easily buy (or employ a few dozen people who have a thousand accounts) a huge number of subscriptions. Once that happens, people do things to game the system. You're caught in the uncertain zone where the automated system can't figure out if you're genuine or stealing content/scamming people/borderline porn aimed at kids, etc. It stinks, but it's like how there are now security guards in urban grocery stores in the US, something that is shocking and dismaying. You can blame the grocery employees and rant at them, but it's the people abusing them that are the cause of the problem. In some places I hear they are locking up toothpaste.
