Speedmaster 102mm LS Throttle Body Internals
This is a quick look at the internals of the Speedmaster 102mm drive-by-wire (fly-by-wire) LS throttle body. The manufacturer advised me that they use a mechanical throttle position sensor just like the OEM AC Delco GM LS throttle body. This was confirmed to be false. Either their customer support doesn't know what they're talking about or it was a flat out lie.

Supercharged Nissan Titan Dyno Tuning w/ Cams and Water/Methanol Injection
Просмотров 21 тыс.4 года назад
Putting down 450whp consistently back to back at about 8psi. Unfortunately the dyno operator was not able to get a good torque reading off my truck. Previously the truck made 385whp/468wtq though on a Dynocom before the JWT S7/S2 cams and the water/methanol injection.

Nissan Titan rattling at idle and 1500 RPM

Just as the title states, this is a video of my 2006 Nissan Titan with a rattling sound at idle and 1500 RPM. This is after I had the JBA headers, Cajun B pipes, and JBA cat back exhaust installed. I am also on the Uprev base tune that I got from Cajun tuning. UPDATE - Turned out this was the heat shield on the passenger side of the truck rubbing against the body. It was probably just bent duri...

WS6 Trans Am gets killed by my Eclipse GS-T
I have the same sound, when I put pressure on the rear tail pipe it goes away. Still baffled.
@@sms9106 check your heat shields!
@quicksilver2102 I just did, they seem secure but maybe could use some dampening of sorts. It does seem likely this is the issue, probably the rear one.
I had that same issue. After countless hours of researching, I finally figured it out. The heatshield next to the O2 sensor was loose causing it to vibrate at the connection point of the O2 sensor and the pipe.
What’s better de or vd?
I'm hearing the same noise on my 2018
It turned out to be the heat shield on my passenger side. Check your heat shields!
@@quicksilver2102 thanks your right that is a relief i was scared it was something serious
I got a 2017 Titan I want to start building but don’t k know where to start
I'd start with your basic bolt ons first. Intake and exhaust, then move on to some headers and a custom tune. I think UpRev is working on the tunes for 2nd Gen Titans.
Bet appreciate that we’ll see what happens 😂 when I get that done
Are those headers special order because they are titanium or because they stopped making them?
Nice build 🔥 You mind sharing. Drop kit and wheel specs ?
Thank you! It's a Belltech 2/4 drop (437SP) and the wheels are 20" 1st gen Titan LE wheels I believe.
What cam is that would it work for my 2006 qx56
It's made by Jim Wolf Technologies (JWT), and I don't think it will work with the QX56 variant engine, but you could give them a call and double check. They're super helpful and can go over options with you!
@@quicksilver2102 how was it to cam it and tune it costs
Engine? 5.6l v8?
Yes, the 5.6l v8 flex fuel
I have a 2017 titan and I’m hearing this backing up slowly and when I’m at a stop
Mine turned out to be the passenger heat shield rubbing against the body of the truck. Might wanna check your heat shields!
What cams are you running?
JWT S7/S2 and JWT springs
That’s pretty crappy ,sure some will say great output, but really it’s less than a tuned only ecoboost ,for 500 bucks, compared to how much, ? 7-9k for a blower, dollar per HP gains it sucks.compare it to a LS ,or a ford mod 5.” Liter ..
Not here to compare to those, lol..it's an old Eaton M112 blower for one, and how much did that Ecoboost cost upfront? This is an almost 20 year old Titan that's paid off, so it's just a fun (and different truck) to mod.
You do you let that engine spin...😅
Check out @Supreme Master chief
Nissan titan it stock(but I have always enjoyed it 😀 who knows the hp/tq... but it will drive....
I am subscriber 73 and I also have a Nissan Titan that breaks down all the time😢
Have you tried using e85? It’d maybe get it too 500hp
Not really wanting to use E85 since it sits for extended periods (my job is work from home), but it should be making about 500whp now. It's on a smaller pulley and made about 465 with the belt slipping way early. Belt is tightened now and not slipping anymore. Should be right at 500whp once I get it back on the dyno.
My motor has 150k on it rn and I never plan on selling my truck. Once I get another vehicle I was gonna swap my motor and build a 5.6 for it. I heard titans are very unreliable supercharged but haven’t looked into it much yet as it’s my daily and I want to maintain the reliability for now at least. Has yours been reliable any recommendations for when I do it?
I would say keep the boost low around 6psi and you should be okay. Water/methanol injection and colder spark plugs will help. Make sure your tuner just tunes your truck conservatively. The Titans you've heard of/read about in the past were using 16 injectors and a piggyback tune. If you find a Stillen supercharger, plug the additional 8 injector holes and tune with UpRev. You should also beef up the transmission with an upgraded valve body or transgo shift kit at the very least.
@@quicksilver2102 awesome man I really appreciate that. I’ll definitely look into that
How much did everything cost to do this swap?
I'd ballpark around $12k for the full setup. That's not including the transmission and rear end work. Just the supercharger, cams, intake, and fueling.
@@quicksilver2102 do you know where I can purchase all of these parts? Appreciate all of your help!
@@popclutch_100 the supercharger is not available anymore, but you can get a new version/style through Harrop. The fuel injectors are Injector Dynamics, the fuel pump is a Walbro 450, and the intake is an Airaid MXP with an LS 90mm throttle body. UpRev used for tuning.
@@quicksilver2102 man thank you so much. Appreciate your help. Cant wait to build my ride!!!

Yes
I have one go for it
I've really been wanting to working on my vehicles performance, as someone who is stock where should I start?
For the Nissan Titan specifically? If so, you could do the Airaid MXP intake, JBA or Borla XR1 exhaust, and then JBA long tube headers w/ Cajun B-pipes and an UpRev tune. Good recipe for a fun Titan right there.
@Anthony Jones possibly by using the Harrop supercharger. I'm not positive though on that. Just give them a call and ask, they're super helpful!
I have a 2006 Nissan Armada that started make the exact noise and I came here. It's noticeable at idle but sometimes I can hear it on the freeway. It comes and goes.
What rear gearing did you do?
Factory 2.94 gearing still.
@@quicksilver2102 but it’s not a posi correct? Also how’s the transmission hold up to the supercharger
@@josem8270 oh, yes it is now. I have a Detroit Truetrac in the rear end w/ the factory gears. I have a Level 10 valve body upgrade which has been holding the power fairly well. The truck is in the shop right now getting a new tune after a custom intake and return style fuel system.

What oil are you running in your engine? Just curious
Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w30
It's between that, Castrol Edge Extended Performance, and Amsoil Signature Series. I'll be changing the oil every 5k miles, so the Amsoil Signature Series is kind of overkill though in my opinion.
I just recently purchased a nissan titan and was trying to get a consensus on what oil works best for this engine. Seeing that your truck is supercharged and running good on those oils helps! I was thinking of running Castrol Edge 0w40 European oil but im concerned it may not be the best for this engine.
@@JH-vy6zh My buddy tests oils as part of his job and they also test engines to destruction to see what oils perform best. They found that the Castrol Edge Extended Performance (Gold Bottle) was the best performer of the ones they tested, even over Mobil 1.
Thanks for the input. Ill give that oil a try next oil change.
What size wheels u got?
20" Nissan Wheels. 305/50/20 tire size.
If this can be supercharged wouldnt the same be applied to the Armada or any other nissan that uses this V8
Yes that's correct, pretty much any VK56DE application can use this setup! Unfortunately it's not made anymore, but Harrop is now making a new TVS2350 and TVS2650 version for the VK56DE and VK56VD engines.

Interesting to see people still boosting Titans with the Stillen S/C,after all the complaints and problems I heard on the forum. But overall nice numbers,I bet its a blast to drive.
Thanks!! Yeah, the people who had problems in the early days were likely running the piggyback fuel management system provided by Stillen and also 16 injectors. This setup is on UpRev w/ the 8 injector holes plugged up instead. Still working on some driveability issues for the 90mm LS throttle body after having the cams installed, but otherwise the truck pulls hard. Definitely a lot of fun to drive!! 😁

Badass Truck what's the set up
Hey Fernando, sorry I never got a notification about this comment. I posted a new video on my channel though which has the current full build info!
My trucks making this exact noise at idle, I kinda thought it might be the heat shield. I know what I’ll be doing this weekend.
2006 titan, and had my front exhaust replaced. Sure enough, 2 bolts on the heat shield stripped and we share the same sound. I used a 5/16" self tapping nut and carefully fixed the problem. Wish I saw this before I almost lost my mind over it. Lol. Thanks for the upload!
My completely stock 2014 Titan just started doing this after I took it to the dealer for servicing. Thanks for posting this, will tell them to check the heat shield when I take it in tomorrow!
