I bought the Aqara but the FOV was so bad. Would be great if that camera was flipped to portrait. I never fully installed it. Returned it. I hear the Logitech overheats. I live in the Arizona desert, so probably not a good option. I wish there were more HSV camera options.
@@BrandonSnodgrass hopefully when doorbells start to support matter there would be other options. Have you tried Arlo ? I installed it for a family friend and it's been over 3years now. No HSV but it has homekit support.
Yeah. The vertical Fov of Aqara is what kills it. I currently use it in my new place but I have other cameras at around the house to make up for the poor FOV of the Aqara. I think ecobee has one as well though I havent used it yet.
@@TyDaSpace I appreciate your review. I found it after I bought and returned Aqara. I may have still bought it. I currently have a 1st gen Nest and I run HomeAssistant with a bridge to HomeKit. So I can see it in HomeKit but my goal is native support. Fingers crossed for more options soon.
Have you programmed motion sensor to switch on during night time for the floodlight
🤔; Stop it AI; Be nice.
It’s junk. Crapped out after 2 years. No known problem. Lots of problems. With these, check out RUclips and you’ll see! No one wants to work on these.
Great Video! Best explanation I have seen! Thank you!
@@Slimhaven1 I'm glad you found it helpful . I tried to be as detailed as possible
I only have the 16 inch 4ah one. I have plenty of batteries already from other tools and it's served me great. I almost got this one but yard isn't that big
@@mcham0846 I like it too but I tried the self propelled newer model and I loved it even more.
Does your EERO automatically switch to channel 10 on the 2.4 GHz band, similar to mine?
@@CCE007CCE it should only be on either 1,6, or 11 on 2.4 at least based on my north American location. Depending on your country you might have other channels available on 2.4 for use. Mine only switch Che's between those 3
Where did you get that fit broski
Can you show how to add the P2 to Home Assistant (from HomeKit) Thx.
@@ppi57 I got you. I’ll put something together matter and thread and Aqara devices

I loved it ❣️ bro 😊 Sumsung Frame tv Amazing 😍
If you want control, privacy, advanced networking, and no ridiculous upsells for software features that run locally on the hardware you bought go UniFi. If you want a very simple out of the box setup, budget friendly, and hardware that provides very fast speeds, and great wifi coverage go Eero. UniFi is only budget friendly in an enterprise deployment, at residential level it’s expensive and overkill (but will not let you down). - Unifi home network user
Yup. my sentiment excatly. You sound like someone who is in the industry as well. Those ridiculous upsells is what pisses me off about companies like Amazon and Google and why I stay away from their products in general so I don't usually give them a chance. I saw the eero go on sale and decided to try it and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was for the price. I would keep it if I didn't have the need for the advanced feature set from the unifi.
@@TyDaSpace Yep! I provide IT services for SMB's, mostly a Unifi operation. That said, an owner of a company I did work for was looking for a home network solution, I gave the Eero Pro a try, and it's been rock solid for 2 yrs!
@@DozIT yup. One thing I have learnt is to offer the least complicated solution so you don't keep getting phone calls all the time .
@@TyDaSpace yep!!!
where and how is your u6 placed? never got to see where it is.
@@InFlamesOfSorrow ceiling mounted on the top floor and basement - staggered on alternate parts of the house to minimize overlap.
@@InFlamesOfSorrow check out my other video where I did all the wiring and the install. I have a couple of them.
@@TyDaSpace ok! so the ap was right above you when you did the speedtest inside? i also have a unify ap but get my full 600 mbit. probably has something to do with the settings?
@@InFlamesOfSorrow in the video, I showed the UniFi doing about 600Mbps as well. My point is why pay 1000 plus when a 200 dollar system can achieve the same and even better. The EERO can do over 1.6GBPS While the U6 caps out at 960MBPS. Also Who stands under their AP when using their phone or laptop? So why would you do your test based on that. You do your test from the areas you frequently use your devices cuz that’s what matters. Seeing many of the comments, I am definitely convinced most people shouldn’t be using UniFi. It’s like giving a formular one car to a regular person compared to giving it to Lewis Hamilton. Yeah, you get the bragging rights of driving a cool car but that’s al it will ever be. Meanwhile you could just get a Tesla that also moves as fast but does all the work for you and at a fraction of the cost. But again, I like to have a cool car in my garage to brag about and clean and shine even if I can’t drive like Lewis 😂😂 so I guess if you have the money for UniFi you can splurge. But Mehn, the prices though for UniFi stuff is crazy. I have been wanting to purchase a UniFi Poe switch for the past 4 years for my UniFi but I can’t bring my self to spend that on a switch - 600 buck for a 24 port switch that is only 1GB and not all is poe. In the business world it is chump change when we spend 15k for a Cisco switch compared to 2K for UniFi.
@@TyDaSpace eya wow thats along reply haha 🙂 I understand what your point was, i was only interested in how you tested. As most people know the unify is rather made for many clients than for maximum speed for one client. The only thing why i asked if the unify ap was above you when you tested the speed is because you also tested right next to the eero. The Eero is impressive indeed, i just dont like the google subscriptions you have to get to even see any telemetry and other nice features. (at least where i live) Oh and if you didnt know! You dont NEED all the fancy unify switches and all that stuff. The ap also works just fine by itself. You only need to install the program on your PC to manage the settings.
Probably shouldn’t test with both powered on at the same time. Results are invalid.
@@Valerius7777 really? So you tell your neighbors to turn off their wifi when you use yours ? Secondly I put a disclaimer in the video right at 1:16 about all the external factors that can affect wifi. In real life, there will be many other users of wifi and other interferences like peoples HP printers that are just broadcasting, microwave oven etc. Secondly both unit were tested under the same scenario. The point is which handles real life better not an ideal scenario
@@TyDaSpace exactly. For example, if you live in a heavily populated condo or apartment building where your neighbor's Wi-Fi is on the other side of your wall, you can't knock on the wall and say, "Turn your Wi-Fi off, please. You are messing up my Netflix."...LOL. I like how you did the real-world scenario.
The main point of the video is correct but I fell that unifi got a little unfair representation here. You can totally buy a single AP and set it up within minutes using the app. All the complicated bits with VLAN and Controller are the scalable part that a normal home owner usually does not need (as you said). What I’m more afraid of is that a home owner will just throw the ceiling mount AP into a corner and then complain about bad coverage. That’s why most consumer routers have unidirectional antennas.
@@marcopfeiffer3032 No, you cannot set it up within mins if you are setting it up the proper way - at the very least you have to mount the APs so that means running ethernet cable and not just to any spot that is convenient for you. I have seen some shitty install just because its the easiest place to string the wire along the wall too. I have videos on brand new unifi setup on my channel there is no way you can do it properly in a few mins. If you are going to spend all that money on that system then set it up properly else get a system that is built for mins setup. I designed mine ground up when the house was being built using Ekahau (an enterprise grade wireless network designer. It's what we use to design wifi for large buildings.) At the time, my house was the only one on the entire street, fast forward 6months, and more than 10 houses have poped up with with many of them now having people living there. That has significantly changed my wireless landscape and that would mean re-positioning my APs which is not as simple as just remove and relocate. I have to figure new wiring. That's a lot of time and money. But I have the need for a the system so I adjust as necessary. With something like EERO, you just relocate your unit. If you don't use the advanced feature of a Unifi you have no business using the Unifi.
@@marcopfeiffer3032 my point was not to represent either Unifi or Eero. I have made multiple videos installing Unifi systems and recommended many of their products.I don't have any affiliation or relation to either. The system is not for everyone and should not be automatically the first option. Your NEED should determine what route you go. I simply stated my experience with both. My point is you can buy a cheap system that performs just as good if not better. It doesn't have to be the eero. Google also has theirs. I just happened to only test the eero. Ubiquity also has their home line as well that can be considered.
Great video! Have used Dream Router and now using UniFi Express. They have been great for all the advance features i need. But yeah the Wifi 7 APs are kinda pricy, and am bit lazy to setup mesh. Tried Deco, but unifi system just seemed felt stable to me. 🤷 Am in a very dense city though. Curious to try eero.
Deco is TP-Link’s amateur series. You need TP-Link Omada. The controller takes care of the channels. I deploy it professionally.
@@Gaijin101 let me know if you do and what you experience is. I'll be curious to see others.
Making mamas life easier is the dream!
I chose to go with Unifi, so that I could have more insight and control over my network and the devices that connect to it. I'm still fairly newly to the network/security realm of IT and Unifi has helped me with getting more familiar with learning as I continue to enhance my career.
@@TechyTillett Definitely a Valid reason to go with the UniFi Setup.
Great watch and useful info. There's a lot of alternatives thaf often get slept on in better price brackets
IKR! I see people who have no clue about this system get suckered in to spending all that money purchasing it.
@@TyDaSpace True. Coz there's still good value in it but sometimes alternatives provide good bang for buck so that extra spend becomes redundant.
very confused 🙋♂️ is the thread border router the same as the aqara m3 hub?
The Aqara M3 can act as a thread border router. It like your wifi in your house that your service provider gives you. That box can do wifi as well as other things. So your wireless phones can connect wirelessly to it to connect to the internet. Similar concept with the Aqara M3. It can do other things and can also act as a thread border router for thread devices to connect. I hope that kind of makes sense.

Just getting home from a 6 day vacation and my garden is in heavy need of some love 😅 thanks for the motivation!
U may have fixed the lawn plus the curving flowerbed is lovely. However those trees are planted too close to the walls. In no time their roots will bury under and as the tree grows the roots thicken and will damage the brick wall. If u move those trees a couple of feet forward asap I believe no harm done.
How would you rate the sound level when you are raising the shade? Do you think it would wake you if you were sleeping near it?
