Lake Trout Action 🎣
I did a bit of trolling the day before. I haven’t seen them school up around the depth they should be when the water temp gets high. Water was still still chilly and they were still scattered throughout. I’ll be sure to look for nicer fish this weekend so standby 🎣

This was the last time we had the trout at their spots before they headed to their spawning grounds. I plan to get my pb this season so please be on the lookout whenever that happens.

A couple of us took out our at a for a very nice drive through the winter road. This winter road connects with our neighbouring community. It was great, I thought it would be more treacherous and hard. The machines handled the road no problem.

I had a blast today fishing for lakers yet again. I decided to use a dipsy diver today because I said I would before the season ends. The trout will move up to their spawning spots soon and then get the ice fishing gear ready for hard water fishing 🎣

I spent a full day out with Coastal Wilderness Adventures at Campbell river B.C. It was a blast o had so much fun reeling in strong salmon. We caught pink, coho and chinook salmon. My biggest we’re about 4 14-15lbs. We didn’t hook up to a big one but they were all fun.

I finally got out to just jig for lakers today (for some reason I prefer to troll) We got about 20 trout in about 30 minutes. We had to cut the trio short because there was a storm headed our way. I even had time to hook up my custom teaspoon lure. It caught a couple of fish but it was a little too slow dropping so I had to revert back to my tubes.

Heavy duty one is okuma cold water with okuma classic pro glt (downrigger rod)…and I was using the daiwa tatula baitcaster reel and rod later on on this video 🎣

What lures are you using and depth for lakers? I just got a downrigger!
Go to for me are 1) m2 flatfish with 8 1/2” flasher 2) spin n glo with 11” flasher 3) northern king spoons with triangular gibbons attractor 4) salmon flies with 11” flasher. And new hot lure I’ve been getting them on are custom lures from hook of dreams-look them up. Those are down rigger set ups. Never really use one set up exclusively because one day they’ll hit one and not the other so I switch them up. I also get tons of fish using dipsy divers too. I never use flashers for them though-just straight spoons, plugs and now hook of dreams lures. Depth depends on season and water temp for me…right now its just getting warm so I target them from 40-65ft of water. Just set them 10-15ft from bottom they will almost come up and bite from any depth when they see your presentation. July-August I go to deeper spots, but still if I’m fishing over 80ft of water I’d still keep my lures around 50-65 feet. Also just see where the are at and go to them. Good luck 😉
