Omg tell me about it! Taylor swift ain’t my thing but the HATE IS INSANE! She’s not that bad, she’s alright you can just not be into pop music and get on with your life. I always complement any of the kids who come in the art store I work at who ware a Taylor swift shirt because I know they get hate for it and I want them to be happy about there interests and not hide it like I did. I never had any issue doing things like that. I always loved the fact that I could get to know the group of kids - the good ones and more importantly, the bad... The groceries never spoiled. But to each their own because I know my way certainly isn't always the right/best way. Just sharing a contrasting opinion.

The best response to the situation isn't to intimidate your children. Separate both parties, get both sides of the story, and get to the root of the problem. Most of the time, children aren't upset with you. They're just overwhelmed with their day-to-day or dont feel like they're being heard. How would you like to be treated? Would you like people to use fear tactics to get the outcome they want or would you rather them treat you like they care about you and your feelings? I mean dont allow kids to act out with no repercussions, sure. But it isn't necessary to be in their face and aggressive with them at every turn just to "teach them respect" you can teach respect without an angry tone and you can teach them how to handle situations properly. We're all human, maybe try some compassion and always use the "put yourself in their shoes" rule.
