Do I Need a Trained Stock Dog to Move Livestock?
Sheep rancher here. Sheep don't need a barn.
I would say , that the Kangal is number 1 and there's the Anatolian Shepherd, Pyrenees and few others
Can you tell me why my border collie turned into a chicken killer and cornering and biting the legs of my goats badly? She couldnt fit in with the older blue heelers as a pup and got picked on so she avoided the blueheelers and turned out doing herbown thing .Stocking roosters then killing them and chickens too many times. I didnt speend alot of time with her because the blue heelers kept her away from me. It wS heRt breKing because i wanted to spend alot of time with her but they kept her bay. The dog herarchy! Can you tell me where i went extremely wrong with her? I didnt know she was gonna turn into a killer. Overtime i woulnt put it past her to kill the goats as well. Was blue heelers not a mix withborder collies bad to begin with because blues are competitive for position with the human.
Where can a person buy one of these? A good breader. Thanks
So cute.
Very good presentation. Greetings from Turkiye, the home of these wonderful dogs...
Great video, thanks! The perimeter fence on the farm I'm moving to is 5 wire barbed non-electrified fence. I'd love to build a timeless fence but I suppose it makes more sense to just add a couple of hot wires, similar to how you have been working with what you got. Cheers Alex
I Iove watching the videos of these dogs working!
Blis de name is orchinal türkch anadolu kangal okey
TÜRKİCH ANADOLU KANGAL...orchinal name okey
Anatolian is thinkig "Wow, delivery on dinner was fast!"
The Kangal/Anatolian Shepherd is a great example and the pinnacle of a LSGD. The Great Pyrenees, Maremme Sheep dog, Karakachan, Leonberger, Kuvaszs, Akbash, Komondor, Carpathian shepherd, Slovensky Cuvac, Mioritic Sheepdog and Caucasian Shepherds are very extreme working dogs and should only be used as such. Big breeds like the Central Asian Shepherd and Bully Kutta are not for any other reason but to protect vast areas of rugged terrain with numerous types of livestock and predators. They are not an extension of your ego or lack there of. As always do your due diligence and choose one that fits your needs and the needs of the dog. ✌🏽♥️
Oh oh oh...they are PRECIOUS 💜🐾🐾💜
I've met these dogs at dog shows and their owners have told me the internet sources drum up their aggression and stubbornness, and that they're perfectly level-headed and stable-natured dogs. They're still not great for novices and still have challenges, but they aren't paranoid edgy dogs that are hell to live with.
Valuable information. I like the idea of meal prep for whole week. Are your dogs on one meal a day ?
Can Anatolian shepherd live in a neighborhood?
Beautiful!
Im looking at one to have. I have a 4 year old german shepherd who needs a mate. Whats your thoughts on them with another family dog?
Odin!! The big boy !
I want a pack of these
Our Anatolian brings us coyotes all the time.
Excellent
❤❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
their training is coming along nicely… almost time to go to battle against the enemy kuduz vine
Its funny bc i got a brindle blue nose pit and i have to use that line constantly 😂😂😂😂
Yep, I have teeth. I bite. My dog has teeth. He bites. I don't try to predict the actions of my fur child because each person gives off a different energy that only the dog senses. I don't take chances because there's not enough "Oh, Im sorry " to cover the damages from a dog's bite.
Real funny had me on the floor for days must have dpent weeks, coming up with that joke
I be like yep
Bites ya. Not my dog
I feel the same way
It's not even his joke
Good answer good answer . Tje servay says #1
You shouldn’t have a dog then
Care to elaborate? Oh no sense of humor got it.
I googled this question and was so glad to see this video.. I was curious if the LGD would protect the sheep from the stock dogs!!
6:40 No one noticed the stick stuck on that goats head, lol?
So cedar chips?? I know nothing about goats but I'm babysitting two I'm getting them de-wormed this Wednesday
My boys kept their ears and they cauliflowered each other while playing.
I love and respect this breed too much to put them in town in a fenced yard. I pray they don't fall prey money grubbing so called breeders.
EPIC
HES SO CUTE (Your neighbor)
He got so big! Powerful and intelligent !
I was hoping you would see this video. I’m sorry it took so long for the update.
I enjoyed it! thank you! You have done a great job! He was so playful and majestic! Such a pleasure to watch them grow.
Thanks for the video!
I thought the goats were the weed eaters.
Congratulations on the new projects! I was hoping to see more of Odin how much he grew since he and my puppy Aslan are the same age and breed
I will have a new video of Odin soon!
That's a good point about fencing your livestock in with a den of coyotes. I hadn't thought of that. I'm planning on rotating goats through 43 acres to clear it and I've got lots of places on my property where coyotes could hide. I was focused on keeping the coyotes out, but I hadn't thought about accidently fencing them in.
I'm just about to start a small heard of milking goats of maybe 5/6 which will hopefully build up to 50 over the course of 8 to 12 months. I have access to about 100 acres of woodland that has become derelict with ivy and Rhododendron having taken over acer after acer of the site. If I were to use the goats to clear these would the toxins in both of the plants root systems have an effect on the milk produced by my goats? I know that the Rhododendrons roots produce an acid which most eco friendly weed killers have very little impact on controlling this weed but is the stomach, the digestive system and the bowel capable of destroying the acid? It's a bit of a strange thing to ask but if I get this wrong I could easily kill my herd in a day, 😅.
I’m not sure on the milk production but it’s best to try new plants slowly with a herd and typically they are smart enough to avoid anything bad if given enough access to good foods.
Great job Brian
Thanks!
Sheep aren’t worried. Great trust in their protector
I have a rescue dog who is almost 2, I truly believe(as does my vet friend) she's an anatolian mix.. I wonder what you think? You should peak at my channel and tell me... I'm just dying to know, lol
Thats a Kangal 🤦🏾♂️.. They came from East Asia
Very very close breed to the Kangal but not the same! I own an Anatolian, Kangals are bigger, and there are differences in temperament as well.
They need spike collar 😊
