On one side, America has the best Parks in the world with stunning views. On the other hand, it also has depressing cities. We will focus both on this channel.
When we go from city to city, we find a lot of sad stories. Every neighborhood is not affluent or shiny. Yes, helping other countries is great, but we should not abandon our citizens.
Don't get us wrong. There are stunning places in America. National Parks System are one of them. This channel will help you to see both sides of real America.

I remember watching them burn the cross on Prospect St. Mountain, across the street from Woodrow Wilson school. I watched it from the window of my aunts 2nd story apartment. I remember my mother telling me it was the KKK.
I JUST FOUND OUT THAT JAKE SPRAKER BOUT OUT ROCKY'S 2024
Nice. I miss a Bottisti pizza.
You drove through the old Eastside - so much is torn down & abandoned - in the old days up to the mid 60s that neighborhood was half Italian & half Polish / some Lithuanian - Marnells Drive In - Marconi Bakery - my friend’s father’s tavern “the Breeze Inn” & St Joseph’s Catholic Church - I remember Joe’s Tavern , had a big picture window facing East End Ave , you could watch the man spinning pizza dough above his head - my Mother was from “the Hill” but the East Side was a vibrant neighborhood back then - long ago & gone but the memories of old CH will remain forever 👍😀
Thanks for sharing
This decay happened over many decades. 😟
A trip to Chicago Heights is NEVER complete without a trip to STARSHIP VIDEO!
They barely live down there
Wheres the physics and paganism federals at ? Tell them satanic cults with there Marijuana should be banned. Since your to dang late for 1800s to 1970s maybe that your court system hang paganism folks that is nothen to do with Satanism. Look at the star of the flag inleast its not showing upside-down like a true Satanism cults.
Chicago Heights hosts a FedEx Freight Transit Yard, Ford Stamping Plant and a few other viable industrial sites, and it's really not as dangerous as the other collar suburbs immediately south of Chicago, but it lost its hospital. More urban decline.
Once a manufacturing mecca and nice place to shop, the "Heights" has turned into a gang shooting gallery at night. A friend of mine finally dumped his really nice house and moved deep into Indiana. He got out just in time in 2022. Living the good life in the cornfields away from Chicago's gang influence.
Never been there but my father’s family was raised at 1433 Center. You drove past their house. Thank you!!
I was driving West on interstate 80 a couple years ago and got stuck in a massive traffic jam near Chicago due to road construction. On my way bac traveling East I thought I would by pass the construction and veer off of interstate 80 and take route 30 which parallels 80, but takes through you Chicago Heights. I will NEVER make that mistake again. I have traveled all over this Country and never seen a road open to the public that has been in worse shape. The potholes on the road were the size of craters. These potholes were so big that they would break your car. You had to drive like you were on a serpentine course to avoid the potholes. At some points I had to take my foot off the gas pedal and just idle at 1-2mph so I wouldn't get a flat or worse. I noticed home made signs along the road "Fix a Flat". That told me that this road does not receive ANY maintenance whatsoever. This is worst I ever seen in America.
Cgohtsfevr💪😎💯
Anytime you see a CEDA office the demographics are obvious.
Hobby lobby
I agree with you 💯 percent town is shit
Blast from the past. There is a big lake nearby. Great waterskiing and boating. I forget the name. Cabins and small homes. Great place
Lil bro just got the meoweed
a funny thing about J' ave was that during the late 60's 70's , 80's and very early 90's from 172'nd st all the way to 180'th st it was the capital drop of for most of the stolen cars on the east coast
all the way to the late 60's and very early 70's it was mostly Jewish , and upper working class whites , but by the very late 60's those damn PR's and blks who were teachers , firemen , cops and nurses , bus drivers , and grocery store owners and veterans started to move into the north bronx areas the white sections were being infiltrated slowly but surely for the more latins and blacks coming in more and more whited would leave = thank the gods for that
it was 1991 I saw the terminator 2 on the billboard at the united artists theater background
Worked at Coen’s Dept Store, Washburn, Edward’sBox and Paper in my ill spent youth. Signed up for the Air Force at he recruiting office on Main St. and never returned.
Omg
I remember that my family went to the restaurant in the Bronx all the times I love it I am sad not anymore because of convirus 19 ok
Eastside has great memories! Many wonderful Italians came from this side of town. I was born at st. James. My italian grandparents immigrated and settled in chicago heights. All towns have run down areas, ya gotta ask yourself, why no investment in the area?
Thanks for this - I used to live in Amsterdam, and relocated quite some ways away... I haven't been back there in about 15-20 years. I do miss it. I refuse to bad-mouth the city where I grew up. I know it's changed - and perhaps not always for the best, but all of America has changed. Time hasn't stopped anywhere except maybe "Mayberry" or something. I'd love to be back in Amsterdam. Excellent video quality, by the way. Again, thanks for making this clip available. I greatly appreciate it.
So many good memories. I miss you Susie bell and auntie cookie
i saw my school lol
1236 Lincoln Ave was my home from 1981 till 1997 when I moved out East to Rhode Island. I hated living in The Heights. I couldn’t wait to grow up and leave. My old house is no longer there. It’s just an abandoned plot. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Do the drug dealers on Wentworth still sit on their porches and yell out "what you need?" As you drive by? Ah well good things can't last forever
New York native here. I still want to know who was the dumb schmuck that decided to plant all those trees underneath the power lines? Those trees are at least 75 feet tall at maturity and they are underneath power lines that are 20 feet above the ground. Trimmed, they look absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention that they blow over during storms, tear down the power lines, and leave zillions of people without power. Wait, wait - don't tell me - the stupid person that made this decision is still collecting a pension check, paid for by your taxpayer dollars!!!
Wow. I lived here in ‘74 on S. Williams St. when I was 4. The house was VERY haunted. This brings back so many memories, although I couldn’t tell you where you were on any of these streets.
so so well done
You just focus on the same blighted areas , just driving around in circles passing the same buildings. Try going to different areas of the Heights which are much nicer. But that’s not the image you are looking to project? Are you?
Got go on a national parks tour in 2019. Everyone should do it in their lifetime.😊
It's a must see in person.
I loved that video thank you so much! I grew up there it looks good same as i remember with some different paint and different names on business THANKS
Never been there but I kind of like the area, clean everything mowed and no junk cars, trash and piles of junk tires. I used to live around O'Hare airport in the 60s and 70s.
