After every three month training voyage, it takes 15k-20k man hours to bring the DANMARK to "ship shape". Good thing there are 80 trainees.

La Casa de Guardia only has sweet Malagueñan wines, but I like to go there once in a while. But to eat, I much prefer the tiny back bar in Restaurante El Pimpi. We'll go to both next time.

The US Coast Guard site notes the initial cost to document a pleasure craft as $386. However, I believe that the US yacht ensign is not flown in international or foreign waters since it has no standing as a national ensign. It is only flown in US waters on US documented vessels. In international waters, US ships and private yachts fly the standard US flag internationally. Thanks for your comment.

It''s infectious. Watching the smiles and laughter on all the faces. Adults are having just as much fun as the kids. I can't say "never", but I will try to be there for this every year, even if I miss some of the parades.

Thank you for commenting. When you go, I encourage buying your tickets a MIMINUM of a month in advance and allow 5-6, hours to thoroughly enjoy. I was there 5.5 hours and still didn't have time to visit the fortess Alcazaba.

This is such a cool show. So many different styles, but nothing so far out no one in their right mind would wear. Almost no bad views and so many free seats!

Good question. The designers for each night are announced in advance, but with all of the noise, it is difficult to understand the announcments.

Good comment. Indeed, if you want a hotel or Airbnb near the event, you best reserve far in advance. I met attendees from many Andalucian cities as well as from other European cities.

I don't think there are "official" numbers but it is estimated that over 15,000 additional tourists show up each night for the event - 30,000 or more for the two full days.

Great comment. Thanks. While this event doesn't compete in numbers with events in New York, Paris, London, for example, it has grown quickly to be one of the premier events in Europe.

Absolutely. You can hardly walk in the areas of the tapas bars and restaurants. If you don't like crowds or to be jostled a bit, best just stay home. HA!

Thanks for the comment and observation. I went midday to search possible viewpoints and then returned two hours before the event to garner my spot. Only negative was so many press this year. Next year I will try to get a press pass.

Yes, and one of the great thing about the styles shown is that most are very wearable for the intended occasion, versus many of the outrageous styles exhibited in New York or Paris.
