Þeir Gísli Gissurarson og Gordon Kidd hittust á Íslandi vorið 1973 og tóku að spila saman - og semja saman, Gísli lögin og Gordon textana. Síðan fóru þeir til Danmerkur þar sem þeir hittu tvo Kanadamenn, þau Judy Niblock og Len Davidson. Stofnuðu þau hljómsveit, sem þau gáfu nafnið Geysir.
