No they don't get stuck, if they did they wouldn't live longer due to bigger competitors such as lions.
Looks like this elephant was already dead and the lions came across to eat it while some other elephants were passing through.
They actually killed the elephant, in the year 2022 the same lions killed over 6 elephants.

This elephant was around 14 +-, the whole herd of elephant was present when the hunt took place. The rest of the family members ran for their dear lives.
