I have very low expectations of IIT graduates. Very few of them become innovators or entrepreneurs. Most end up becoming Babus.

People dont understand that vedas and hinduism opens your mind for new creation and innovations. Spirituality instills power. But people who follow wrong prophets and books from religions perpetrating always violence, rage and war by killing the ones who dont follow their religion would never ubderstand these deep ideas and thoughts. It is not their fault.

And then I saw the complete version of Nasadiya Sukta translated in Hindi in the TV series Discovery of India. After that when i dwell on this hymn of creation it fulfils my desire to know.

Their wisdom and insights continue to inspire and influence our understanding of the world. 1- Aryabhata, an extraordinary astronomer and mathematician from the 5th century, is often referred to as the “Father of Indian Mathematics.” His seminal work, Aryabhatiya, introduced the concept of zero, decimal notation, and a precise approximation of ‘π’. Aryabhata’s astronomical treatises provided accurate calculations of planetary positions, eclipses, and the rotation of the Earth. 2- Bhaskara II, a brilliant mathematician and astronomer from the 12th century, revolutionized the field with his magnum opus, Siddhanta Shiromani. He introduced the concept of infinitesimal calculus, calculated the values of trigonometric functions, and proposed novel theories on celestial motion. Bhaskara II’s contributions laid the foundation for future mathematical advancements in our world. 3- Charaka, an eminent physician of ancient India, is hailed as the “Father of Medicine.” His treatise, Charaka Samhita, is a comprehensive compilation of medical knowledge, covering topics such as anatomy, physiology, and disease management. Charaka’s insights into the importance of preventive medicine and holistic healing approaches influenced medical practices across the world. 4- Sushruta, a pioneer of surgery in ancient India also known as the “Father of Surgery”, made remarkable contributions to the field of medicine in the 6th century BCE. His treatise, Sushruta Samhita, is a compendium of surgical procedures, including plastic surgery, ophthalmic surgery, and orthopedics. Sushruta’s use of anesthesia, sophisticated surgical instruments, and emphasis on surgical ethics showcased his advanced understanding of medical science. 5- Kanad, an ancient sage, formulated the atomic theory known as Vaisheshika in the 6th century BCE. He postulated that matter is composed of indivisible particles called “anu” or atoms. Kanad’s atomic theory was centuries ahead of its time and anticipated several concepts later confirmed by modern atomic physics. 6- Nagarjuna, a renowned philosopher and alchemist, made significant contributions to the field of chemistry during the 2nd century CE. His work explored the transformation of metals, purification techniques, and the extraction of medicinal compounds. Nagarjuna’s alchemical knowledge and methodologies laid the groundwork for the development of chemical processes in ancient India. 7- Brahmagupta, an exceptional mathematician and astronomer from the 7th century, revolutionized the study of numbers. His treatise, Brahmasphutasiddhanta, introduced zero as a numerical entity, developed algorithms for arithmetic operations, and provided solutions for quadratic equations. Brahmagupta’s contributions laid the foundation for the advancement of algebraic and numerical concepts. 8- Varahamihira, an eminent astronomer and astrologer, flourished during the 6th century CE. His works, Brihat Samhita and Pancasiddhantika, encompassed diverse topics ranging from astronomy, mathematics, and geography to astrology. Varahamihira’s accurate astronomical calculations and predictive techniques significantly influenced the study of celestial phenomena. 9- Chanakya, also known as Kautilya or Vishnugupta, was an exceptional economist, political strategist, and philosopher during the 4th century BCE. His treatise, Arthashastra, delved into the principles of governance, statecraft, and economics. Chanakya’s profound understanding of political science and administration remains relevant and continues to inspire leaders worldwide. 10- Patanjali, an ancient sage, compiled the Yoga Sutras, a seminal text on the philosophy and practice of Yoga. Patanjali’s systematic exposition of the eight limbs of Yoga, along with guidelines for mental and spiritual development, has had a profound impact on the global understanding and practice of Yoga. The contributions of these above☝️ ten great ancient Indian scientists have left an indelible mark on various scientific disciplines. Their profound insights, pioneering discoveries, and revolutionary theories continue to shape our understanding of mathematics, astronomy, medicine, chemistry, and more.
