3RD - my summer dreambook (2003) (Instrumental Emo)
This is a super cool 10" record from a Madison, WI band with almost no online presence. The last track was recorded by Steve Albini. It sounded most like emo or math rock to me.

A very diverse, experimental split release that covers a lot of sonic ground. There is a cool locked groove at the beginning of the Janek Schaefer side that you can hear around 14:22. I'm still trying to locate a copy of this. I bought #2 at the Thirsty Whale reunion at Shark City about 10 years ago with 2 other ones sealed for $5 bucks each. I should have bought multiple copies.
haha i've been trying to find a copy of #2 since i bought this one. the shop i bought this one from a few years ago had them both for $150 each at the time but i just didn't have the cash for both. only other copies i've seen were like $500 or something stupid

Figuring how red hot chili peppers were formed some years before '86, I think it was '83, I don't think so. There were a few bands with the tribal punk funk ska sound. Amazulu and Defunkt are some.

I think that RHCP, this band and Others similar (Big Boys, Minutemen, Firehose) was *influenced by New York 'punk Funk fusion acts like **#TalkingHeads**, **#JamesChanceAndTheContortions** and **#Defunkt* , period. The two last acts appears In a very popular compilation between the Alternative crowd of L.A. back on early 80s calles *NO WAVE NYC* (Defunkt , Contortions and Bush Tetras have a Funky Beat, alongside with British post punk acts like #GangOfFour, #ThePopGroup, #TheSlits and #ACertainRatio ).
Searched for NATOarts and... no Wikipedia entry, no news article, nothing remotely relevant. Their trick is, while private companies will "witch hunt" plagiarism and copyright infringement, governments and supranational entities are unwilling to do so, thus they get away with it. Let's not fall for urban legends, but other than that, this is such a nice album. Thanks for posting it.
