Aiden Frey runs a new personal record (PR) of 4:31.33 in the 1600m run at the Spartan Invite hosted at Lussier Stadium. This sets a new Freshman Record for VAHS. The previous record of 4:32.17 was held by Ryan Nameth since 2012. He finished 6th in the event, nearly catching teammate Noah Kundert. This video captured the final lap of the race. How far?
How far?
Nice. I like the leg kick as you begin and the way you keep the shot close to your chin. Just add a little more speed to your slide and get a little lower on the right leg as you turn. This will give you more thrust. Also, don’t be shy. Let out your speed, strength, and energy through a loud grunt as you let go. This should add considerable distance to your put. Jan Johnson (1972 Olympic pole vaulter) taught me this when I was in Junior High. I added 4 feet to my distance and won a State Championship against guys that were lots bigger than me. Not because I was stronger. I had better technique. Good luck going forward.

It sounds like it's windy. I would have him run his next time trial in the evening with low wind and heat. Go out in 67-68-69-65=4:29 Way to go on the record. Next time just bury it so no one can touch it for decades.
