Well, that's the problem with Linux, you always have to compromise. I chose Debian because it had most of the apps that I was using on Windows; I didn't choose Ubuntu because I don't agree with their policies and practices. I wasn't planning on gaming on it anyway (I didn't even know I'll be buying a new gpu back then), so I didn't see a reason for it to be the hassle that it was. I love Fedora as a system, but I hate that nothing that I need is available on it.

@@basebard 🤦 there are plenty of Ubuntu derivatives. As soon as you picked Debian for a daily driver you messed up.....unless you know exactly what you are doing and are ok doing everything yourself. Also why are we pretending Flatpacks and AppImages don't exist...

It always takes the devs more time to update console versions, if you don't have it yet then you might have to wait a bit longer

You need to wait i too play on xbox but you need the x/s edition sadly

Thanks @LilRock9000! I thought about it, but figured that the fun of the game was in discovering everything on your own. As soon as I figured everything out, it got shallow quickly and I got bored of the game :/ still, would love to hear ideas if you have any!

Didn't work when I tried. Must have been something with nvidia drivers.

You need to build a tree house frame by looking at the trunk of a brazil nut tree Regarding no-water zone... yeah that's a problem, I had to carry all that stuff on a sled - pretty time-consuming, but maybe there's a river nearby?

@@basebard I was able place the blueprint but it's in the top of the tree.

@@rixxy9204 yep, you just bring resources and look up with your mouse and try to aim into each resource slot as indicated. It will later let you use a rope to get into your house. It's clunky like that

yes and it sounds discouraging to use linux because of that, but the benefits outweigh the costs. there's too many reasons to list here and you can just search online about the upsides of using linux

@@basebard Thanks, I'll probably build another base in the area... mainly been doing Tree bases and made an Ewok Civilization in the trees... it also somewhat trivialized needing the Climbing Hook... Any plans to do a build video on Tree House settlements and all the tips and tricks to get those going at full blast? or maybe one on the Firekeeper Horde Mode base style?

@@jakeforgey5378 what do you mean you made Ewok Civilization in the trees? :D Hmm I didn't think there was much to say about tree houses (except just the very basics which may be confusing for new players), what did you have in mind?

@@basebard Basically, I made a bunch of Tree House 3x3s and connected them, this allowed me to easily go almost anywhere, and I made each one a home in the trees... I also had a crap ton of traps...

Jaguars and natives are not a big problem, really, you just have to learn how to fight them :) but by all means, if traps work for you. I just found them sub-optimal

​@@basebardyou have to make a place to funnel them into your base and force them to run into traps. Also animal traps (killer trap is best imo) are amazing ways to get food and bones.

When compared in the context of a flat paper comparison, yes it is. However, depending on what resources are available to you a coalmine would be a better option. Example: As opposed to a coalmine a charcoal burner also needs someone to gather and continuously supply it with the wood it consumes. Therefore in the early game when you have a limited amount of free hands available and where wood is a lot more important compared to mid to late game, a coal mine would be a better alternative.

Works with the grill rack and stone ring too, even with perishables that can't be cooked

if you let it dry all the way it should'nt spoil right away but it could be a bug that was happening during the flame keeper update

is this a bug? I cannot even use the dryer correctly no matter what the food keeps spoiling so idk how to use that thing despite reading and seeing it on the wiki

I don't think is a bug, you must construct a platform with a roof over the dryer so it won't spoil.

Dried meat last any where from 3-5 days once fully dry.

I was pretty sure it's not affected by the biome it's placed in. I don't remember the source for that off the top of my head though
