Thanks for checking out my channel!
I teach English in Japan but travel as much as I can taking photos of big places and small places. My passions encompass those things along with video creation so was pretty fitting for me to get here.
This channel will have a focus on film photography but will largely be a bit of a diary into my travels. So, would love for you to subscribe and see you in the next video!

The man making the most authentic tacos in Japan.
Long time no see y'all. Hope you dig this piece I did on a dang cool dude in Tokyo.
Yamato "Yamita" Furuya runs one of the few truly authentic taco spots in Japan. After living in Mexico for three years and coming back to Japan, he saw a need and he filled it, all for the love of the food that we all love - tacos.
I met Yamato when I first started frequenting Tacos 3 Hermanos as a popup, which is where we decided to make something together. Beyond just an interesting subject, he quickly became someone I'm happy to call my friend. A genuine guy with a great outlook on life that I could talk with for hours.
So, if you're in Tokyo and suddenly find yourself wanting a break from all the incredib...

Thanks for checking out the video y'all! If you want to see more like this, a subscribe would mean the world. Here we have probably my favorite neighborhood I've been to in Tokyo. So much vintage goodness, cool streets, and I was there when it wasn't even fully open. Sincerely can't wait to get back and check this place out properly sometimes soon. Shooting this was goofy for me because I had r...

Thanks for joining Day 2 of the one roll a day challenge! If you're liking this series, let me know below and subscribe to the channel! Asakusa is a must see area of Tokyo and 100% lives up to the hype. I was here the day before New Years, which if you aren't aware, New Years is an incredibly busy day for Asakusa. The fact it was this busy the day before was nuts. I feel like I shouldn't be sur...

These rolls were chosen at random and are each uniqu...

How does Japan do it?

Thanks for watching this weeks video! I have more coming soon of the absolutely stunning fall foliage in Japan, but this is certainly the highlight. It would mean the world to me if you subscribed to the channel! Thank you! Usually when I think of Japan and when it's most beautiful, I almost always think of Spring, as I think many folks do. Cherry blossoms in bloom, weather getting warm again. ...

Thank you all so much for the continued support. If you like the content and want to subscribe to the channel, it would mean the world to me. Exploring Tokyo really felt like you could find a photo backdrop down just about any street you turn. At night, that "just about" is canceled because it's beautiful everywhere. In the Southeast corner of Gunma prefecture, a rural countryside prefecture, nestles and series of medium sized cities with tons to explore. One of these cities being the capital of Maebashi, which is where I went this week. What I didn't expect, however, was to find so many cool places to explore! Just about every corner I turned was some new life. If you don't know anything about Gunma, it's ...
The COOLEST film of all time! Exploring with Aerochrome | Rolleiflex

So halfway through editing this video I got incredibly bored editing talking points about the technical aspect of the film, especially when there are so many other resources on it. The positive of this is realizing how great it is to just tell things in story format. Here we are in Ashikaga, Tochigi again, but this time exploring the more rural side of things. Driving extensively through small ...

So here's a little bit about myself and what to expect in the future! One thing I neglect to mention here is that my background also comes in the form of film and music video direction. Therefore, I hope to create videos down the road here that tell a story and are done so in a visually appealing way. Anyway, whether you're here for film photography or here adventures in Japan, I can guarantee ...
Utsunomiya, Japan | Rolleiflex, OM1, Panasonic S1

Thanks for watching! Utsunomiya is an absolutely incredible and likely underrepresented city outside of Japan. Aside from being locally famous for their gyoza (which I ate far too much of) they’re also the biggest city within my prefecture of Tochigi. Though the week I spent there was filled with nasty cold rain for 90-95% of my stay, what I found was a city beaming with history. Given the incl...
¡Viva Ecatepec!
Had the opportunity of eating from his tacos truck he was able to do small talk with him in Spanish.

Why do tears build up when listening to this Man's words?

Man, I need to visit this place. If I ever get the chance to visit Japan I know where I'm going 🤤🤤🤤.

Great video, by why are using the same royalty free music from the Drug Dealer Simulator 2 soundtrack? lol
🤣🤣 I have never heard of this but sounds great. It’s from epidemic sound so we probably just have the same source. Thanks for watching though!

This was beautiful, great work Sam!!
Thanks Wata!
I miss the videos but great stuff
This is awesome thank you. I’m thinking about doing some small stuff this year. Keep your eyes peeled!
Nice challenge, saw most of them, enjoyed your pics; honestly, one thing - would have appreciated a little less talking, just let the pictures speak for themselves, their nice enough…
Thanks for the feedback! Had an earlier message saying the opposite so I’ll find the balance one of these days 😂
@@sam-shoots Thanks for the response. I was thinking if I should add something, and now I do. First, it is not about wanting to annoy you at all, just for the record. What I mean is, you are here in visual media and „let the pictures speak for themselves“, trust your narrative visual material, there is no need to add redundant content when the viewer can see what you are talking about. As a viewer, you would like to add your own thoughts to what you see and narrating by pictures will bring you there as a viewer even without words. Happy shooting!
God i love this place
Been really into the CineStill film myself! Really like to see more of that.
Definitely!! I wanna do more Cinestill but the price in japan is absolutely insane. Talking like $18-20 a roll. Next time I’m in the US, I’m absolutely stocking up
@@sam-shoots I didn’t even think of that! It’s an already expensive film, but yeah, that price is crazy pricey! Fun to shoot with!
@@Harleighknowem good news is I have two rolls of 35 and two 120 left of 800t!
@@sam-shoots oooooooohhhhh buddy! Looking forward to seeing what you shoot with those!
For my non-Japanese speaking friends, the lady at 5:10 said that the building used to be a tofu factory/store, and she praised how beautiful the building is as well as stating that they don’t make buildings like this anymore. Another great video, it was really fun to watch! I really appreciated how you articulated what you are seeing as you compose too😆
Hahaha thanks so much for watching but also translation! I wanted to subtitle but my Japanese isn’t good enough to get an exact translation, just could generally pick it up. Appreciate the assistance! Also thanks for watching all these dude, really appreciate it!
What a cool video 👍
Thank you so much!!
You hardly ever see Shimo-Kitazawa this empty, and the Acros matched beautifully! Looking forward for the final challenge!
Appreciate it! I thought maybe I got lucky this day. Probably because everything was closed 😂 still so fun to explore though
Great video Sam! Really loving the striping effect shot :)
Thanks for checking it out! This place is so incredible, I definitely need to go back for some more shots like this
This is the exact experience I have whenever I go out to take photos in Asakusa, it's so hard to get anything decent mid day. Those Kimono ladies came in at the perfect timing though, a great capture!
Right?? Timing was so perfect, so lucky. I think if I go again I’ll just have to go super early before the stores open up because it was such a pain in the end
