As time went on, Splinter found more acceptance with his fate and his new family while Shredder descended into madness and lost his sanity to the point where he felt no remorse even for the ones he “loved”, such as putting his vendetta over his love for Karai when he killed Splinter during the Triceraton invasion. As if he wasn’t far gone mentally, even physically he couldn’t be saved as his super shredder mutation couldn’t be reversed, further proving how he was a monster both inside and out as Splinter put it.
