CSX 1776 Chase on a Windy Willard Sub with CSX 1976
On this particularly windy March morning, we ventured down to the CSX Willard Sub on word that CSX 1776 (Spirit of our Armed Forces) and CSX 1976 (Conrail) were leading two separate trains. We were late to the party this morning, arriving at Fostoria right as 1976 did, forcing us to venture outside of town to get ahead of the train, all while unintentionally skipping right past 1776. After briefly catching the 1976 at a small country crossing, we turned the car around and began pursuit of 1776, eventually getting ahead of him at Bairdstown thanks to the help of a backup on the line. Hope these were not made by trinity rail.....the man way covers for thousands of GATX cars were bought in china...full of pits and holes in the castings, and sent to a shop in east Texas that splashed water on them and signed off these were made in the USA.

Dang, I have been to Royal Oak when they had those bells but never really stood by that crossing. Sad to know they're gone.
Love railroading but I'm reluctant to work in the field as I am afraid that its like most things....its a lot less fun and magical when you HAVE to do it for work and jump in the trenches so I'll stay on the trackside as an admirer.

Noticed some camera shake towards the end of the video as each torpedo car passed. Was that ground vibration or heat radiating from them ? I'm sure the camera is on a tripod and for safety your aways away from it. Great clear photography .......nice video!

Great video, i got to ride on this railroad in 1996. My father knew the yard master back then. Surprisingly, the ride was very smooth for industrial track. A couple years ago a bottle car derailed on the draw bridge, those cars are a pain in the ass to re rail.
I live in an area where I see a lot of Mexican trains and I see those diesel locomotives all the time
