Ruger RXM First Shots | Ruger semi-auto pistols became relevant again
I like Glocks, but they aren’t perfect. In a never ending search for a better “Glock”, I’ve bought a bunch of Glock clones. The Ruger RXM, from the first impression and first shots, is hands down the best clone I’ve tried and I think it out-Glocks the Glock. I’m looking forward to seeing what this Ruger/MagPul collaboration will do.

The first 2 stages were a dumpster fire. Slowed down a touch to get hits and things got much better. Ended up 15th out of 90 overall. #uspsaopen #uspsa @pewpewcnc4625 #gritgrips @SwampfoxOptics #shootinggames #guns #shooting

Not a great start. Had serious gun issues on the first 3 stages. Then I switched top ends. Ended up 31/75. #uspsa #uspsaopen #gritgrips @pewpewcnc4625 @SwampfoxOptics
Ports/Comps and Random Thoughts

Had the evening to myself so I headed to the range. Slow-motion videos of different ports and comps in action, then some random thoughts on ports vs. comps, optics and Glock clone frames. #gun #ccw #shooting #glock Follow me on IG @gunsnobbery www.monsoontactical.com pewpewcnc@gmail.com

@ 1:15 I have watched multiple reviews on this gun and I have seen this same exact malfunction on several occasions. I really wanted to pick this one up but that malfunction seems to be very common. Disappointing.
I’ve seen other videos with the same malfunction. I’d be worried about mine if it had been happening with multiple magazines. I narrowed it down to just one particular MagPul mag. If I start having mag/slide stop related issues with other magazines I’ll start getting worried. I’ve had issues with aluminum and steel cases ammo in MagPul magazines on multiple occasions with several different pistols some can’t say I was surprised. My MagPul mags really hate Russian steel cased ammo.
I believe the reason why they went with the Gen 3 and not the Gen 4 or 5 is because the Gen 3 is the variant that had its patent expire. Solid review. Subscribed. 👍🏻
Thank you.
New frames are already out
I saw the compact (G19) on their website, but haven’t seen the other sizes anywhere.
@Gunsnobbery My bad that's what it was.
@@thevicanddomshowI was hoping you saw something I didn’t. 😂
0:45 interesting. So it functioned fine with the same ammo just using G19 mags?
Yes. After the 3rd time that happened, I pulled the MagPul magazines and replaced them with 15 and 17 round OEM mags and shot probably another 300 rounds without issue. The first rounds I shot out of it (before I started videotaping) were 21 rounds from a MagPul 21 rounder and had no issues. Same ammo that I was using in the 15 rounder mag when it jammed.
Very fine shooting in the opening scene - not typical of most reviews.
Thank you
They didn’t do anything gen 4 . They would get sued the patent is still active
Interesting. I was thinking specifically about a Gen 4 style magazine release like GritGrips and LoneWolf have done with their frames.
@@Gunsnobberyand Nomad has an all gen5 frame.
THE SCD FITS?!? Hell yeah dude thanks, now I'm even more motivated to pick one up!
@@andrewcramer7214 yes it did. It’s a nice bonus.
Just curious to see if you experienced any accuracy issues with your Lucky 7’s/Brownells slide? Let me know👌🏽
I just can’t tell maybe a ltlke softer with the 15 but that may be cause a slower rtb buts just a guess - every round cycled in the test but did you notice any failure one vs the other - I’m tuning mine on the exact same setup and was looking around when I saw your video
@@sidanx7887 I didn’t see any failures or a slower RTB w the 15. It’s really hard to see the benefit to using the 15 unless you can see the dot movement in the glass. The dot settles back quicker with the 15
@@Gunsnobberyok I’ll give it a try
Did you change guns?
I switched top ends and the problem went away.
@@Gunsnobbery I was curious how you like the swampfox
I really like it. Only have @400 rounds through it, but my original Justice has held up for several thousand rounds.
Only put 4 rounds in number 5.
Ya. I saw that when I reviewed it earlier. I ran the CD 8 times total between my 2 revolvers and I did the same thing one other time. No idea why I miscounted. 🤷🏼♂️
Which one is which?!?
Stock on the left. Ports on the right.
Need a crono. Ported barrels lose a lot of velocity
Look further on my channel. There is a chrono. Loses @50fps. Still in the acceptable range for performance.

False
That’s fuddlore
What's your definition of "a lot"???
The Ramjet takes longer to get back on target, rise is about the same
Not bad. I especially liked how he kept his firearm pointed down range on turning corners.
I got both. I love both.
both on the same gun? Serious question. I want both on one Glock
@@JWilliamsWorldWide you wouldn't be the first
Cool
you can see the ramjet muzzle rise is about a quarter inch more and bounces once on the return to zero
Came here to say this. The ramjet definitely bounces
Agreed. That’s why I prefer the Lucky 7s. Got a G47 getting 7’d right now. I’ll post some more vids when I get it back.
Not good, not good
Fucking magical!!!!!!!!!
I'm not going to lie, I bought the Ramjet etc. I see no difference between these to clips
The side profile video only tells part of the story. Hard to video the dot actually tracking up and down. Where the comp/port really becomes apparent as an advantage is when you individual shoot drills “side by side” with a comp/port v. non-comp/port barrel. I shave about 2 seconds off my Casino drill times running the Lucky 7/Ramjet/JTTC.
I see No different too
from the video look like Hollywood bullshit
grip position key, other than that, the same...
Ports returns to zero faster
No different
I agree that from the side it’s hard to see any difference. Looking through the optic and tracking the dot I can tell a difference. With the Lucky 7s the dot tracks pretty much straight up and down. The Ramjet had more of a “V” tracking pattern.
@@Gunsnobbery well thats great cause i have one on order 🤣
@@Gunsnobbery which one do you prefer or would recommend?
@@awokeone7997 that depends. The Lucky 7s porting is my preference if there are no other considerations to think about. But sending off your barrel and slide to have it done is permanent. If you’re good with that, then Lucky 7s hands down. If you’re shooting a Glock you could probably get an aftermarket slide (Brownells windowed @$220) and barrel (AIM surplus @$40) and send it off for the Lucky 7s ports ($115) and have about as much invested as it would cost to buy a Ramjet/Afterburner.
Um, pretty much only goes up 1 line while the comp goes up 1.5-2 lines. That’s a huge difference.
So what do you all think 🤔? Doesn't really look like it does anything but that's just from a video I mean I can't feel it in my hand I mean it does look totally sweet on the gun but I ain't going to pay for hundred bucks just to make my gun look sweet if it doesn't improve performance
you should spend for hundred bucks on an English class
Muito bom !
That’s no good... any follow up? Did you find a cause? Also is that optic holding zero from that position after the rifle has been taken down and reassembled?
Seems to be either a bad trigger return spring or not installed correctly...most commonly at the rear notch on the trigger bar. It can happen on classic P-series Sigs.
Wow.
