Two things Dave Ramsey will never do: 1. His ego will not allow him to sit down and debate a real theologian where he can't press their mute button. 2. He will never address the ONLY time when Jesus calls anyone a Fool; a man who took the Dave Ramsey advice a fool in Luke 12:16-20.

As someone who has been in the Dave Ramsey calling queue, it is all theater. He doesn't listen to his callers to understand. He will be "nice" to one and then blast the next. It's a schtick. His advice is good for making money...but it is theologically bankrupt. Jesus says, "take up your cross...." That doesn't mean "poorness is next to Godliness," but it certainly doesn't mean "live like no one else so that in this world you can live better than everyone else." Dave has good money advice. He is selling with Jesus' name attached. Dave says: You have to transform your behavior. Negative. You have to be Born Again, and the Spirit will transform your heart (Rom. 12:2). Dave butchers that verse. Take Dave's money advice, and you may die rich. But you may hear Jesus say, "Away from me, you evildoers. I never knew you. (Mt. 7:21-23) This is the one teaching from Jesus that Dave will never interact with: Luke 12:16-21 ESV [16] And he told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man produced plentifully, [17] and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’ [18] And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. [19] And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.”’ [20] But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ [21] So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”

This was absolutely amazing and filled with so much wisdom. Exactly what I needed to learn! I’m so glad God led me to listen to this! A question I would love to ask her is how do you handle the feelings of jealousy and missing out on a life of marriage (or in my case missing out on a happy marriage, because I am divorced)? How do you manage the feelings when dreams aren’t realized and it’s a very long wait for any possible miracle of dreams fulfilled?

Wow what a topic! Each to their own but this is why I prefer a “less trendy” church. With no cameras all up in peoples faces.i understand streaming service to reach and spread the gospel, but it’s all now become a production.

You do not heed Dave Ramsey's discussions regarding the gospel. While he offers sound financial guidance, his primary focus seems to be on wealth and social standing. At best, he can be considered a lukewarm Christian. He lacks faith in the gospel as it is traditionally understood. Instead, he subscribes to a personal interpretation of it. He has fashioned a deity that reflects his own likeness, resulting in the creation of an idol. It is inconceivable to possess a fortune exceeding 50 million dollars while accumulating wealth without dedicating a significant portion to assist those in need.

False teachers and liars. Tithing has nothing to do with Christianity.

God makes you richer to give more away. If you have 2 cars/houses/boats or anything I promise you God wants to give away the extra unless you use them regularly for work and even then you probably don't NEED it if you have God.

Empathy with a few of our black families a few years ago, not blind activism, but sitting in our families' homes and listening and having honest conversations --- has been a doorway to now, several years later, seeing even more people coming together. We're diverse generationally, racially, culturally and it's not "perfect" but beautiful and transformative. And we work as a leadership team, to elevate the Word of God -- Grace & Truth. Thank you for this podcast and the others. We appreciate the voice and the encouragement.

A lifetime of choices... God honors our choices.. Pain can take you out.. Definitely hits all the spots for me. And though I haven't gotten to live with a father, I agree time and time again, God is faithful.

Some churches AND some people believe that the pastor and his family are supposed to be poor. I know that in one church, it was a control issue by a deacon who was living in sin. I grew up as a PK. This is a subject that is not taught well in churches.

One of the problems in the Body of Christ is this drive by men like Dave to become rich and have everyone in the Body believe that Jesus wants us rich or poor. Either way, Let God make that decision. We have godly principles in God's word on how we should move and behave earning money, saving for one's children and wife and even grandchildren and great grandchildren. But it isn't with the intent Dave and many more seek and promote. God has never said we are to be poor, however, he has shown and warned us about being enslaved to money. He says it firmly and in His sovereignty, "You cannot seeve both GOD and mammon."

Missionaries in the AG are required by mandate is for half their tithe (5% of their income) goes directly to AGUSM. Keeps the corporation of AG going by basic force. Would this be manipulative(fear based giving)… since to be a US Missionary one isn’t to be practically freely giving… but if they don’t… it’s too bad… to be a missionary you don’t have a choice but to give half your tithe to Springfield.

Generosity is very good for your mental health. If you do not want to give to a church, give to a friend in need, or your waitress, or the drive thru lady.
