@@Paranormal_TheatreKid it's also because "By god you're hot" completes the rhyme set up by "But you're really not." So when they changed Veronica's line to "But I can't agree" they had to change JDs for the rhyme, or vice versa. I have no proof of this. Just a songwriting nerd speculating.
