make sure to fuse both wire at their source - switching amperage (draw) of the relay switching line should be rated on the relay. Power amperage of the accessory will be given on the accessory by the manufacturer. Make sure that your maximum power suppy rating of the relay is more than the draw of the accessory. Also make sure that your wire/cable gage is sufficent for the draw over the length of the cable run - for a given amperage, the cable gage must increase with run length. There is a chart for this sizing - Google "wire size versus amperage chart" and look for the Blue Sea Systems chart.

For future reference, if you want an accessory to be switched on when the ignition is on, tap into an ignition "hot" wire and run the tap to a relay. The relay will then switch the accessory power on/off and you will have sufficient power at all times to your accessory.

You could have safely deflated the tires for extra cleaance example - if 35psi normal, then down to 15psi - just reinflate when you get out - if you do not have a compressor, then drive 20mph max to air station - we do this all the time with Beach Buggy 4x4's after we get off of the sand

Next time you come through Wisconsin head up I39 to Wausau. As you head west toward Minnesota on Wi29 you will come to a spot that is unique on the planet. The geographic intersection on 90* west 45* north you can even get a coin in Wausau and sign the notebook as part to the 45/90 club. There are only three other points on the planet that are the intersection of 90*/45* but 2 are under the ocean and the third is difficult to get to in the China mountains.
