Just had my video camera on a tripod taking some static shots during the regatta. Cut it down to just where the boats passed by. Nothing fantastic - but might be interesting for someone just to borrow pieces for their own video. Nothing Special.

    The schadenfreude is palpable. You get to SEE your opponent lose.

      Not only that, but even once you've won, your opponents may still be in the process of losing!

    Looking at the people you're beating? Not if you have your eyes in the boat like you're supposed to!

      when you are far enough in front, if your focus is of the head in front of you you still see your victims in your peripheral vision. also if you are stroke in a pair or 4- guess what you can see in that position 😜

    Hugh Laurie is right about the rowers seeing the opponents they are beating. But what about the cox ;) ?

      If your head is down and looking in the boat your airways are not straight, you are not breathing properly and probably exhausted as a result.

    *One of the best pieces of cardio equipment ever. I love my rower.>>>**ur2.pl/1167** I use the top mounted cell phone holder and watch netflix while rowing indoors during bad winter weather. It is great cross training for biking or running. I've tried other rowers and this is by far my favorite. The monitor is accurate, well made, and links with my watch and laptop easily.*

    It's called both in america. Crew or rowing. I say "im going to crew" because its shorter and easier to say but when I talk about it I say rowing

    • @DougKutyna
      @DougKutyna 7 лет назад

      Yes. Unfortunately there is very little variability in rowing. It is not uncommon for a team to race all through high school and never place, much less win.

    • @unicyclemaster470
      @unicyclemaster470 7 лет назад

      DougKutyna well ya, it's called being bad, schools with old programs and full boat trailers always win, and then theres club teams.

    Rowing is a my passion, every rower hates it but somehow we keep waking up and going to the boatshed. When you ask a rower why they can never give you a certain answer since they do not know themselves. They do not know the motivation that drives them. Rowing is a passion, and rowers know what it is deep inside

    • @ItsCheball
      @ItsCheball 9 лет назад

      Johnson Lim Couldn't be more right. That second you finish a 2k, every time you feel like you can't breath, your bones are aching and your muscles are sore, every rower asks themselves why they row. I have heaps of friends ask me why I row. I try and pinpoint a reason, but in truth it's like there is none. All that matters is that I still feel compelled to row season after season. Rowing is indeed a passion. Just a very confusing, difficult and painful passion :D

      You guys sound like drug addicts , just replace the word row with shooting up and rowers with junkies and you have basically the script to the movie requiem of a dream or basketball diary

    • @MikeRoberts1964
      @MikeRoberts1964 7 лет назад

      That's actually very accurate. It is an addiction, really. Why else would I have gotten up at 4am, gotten dressed and out the door in the cold of 4:30, rode to the boathouse and wait in the dark to be let in and work my ass off for an hour in the gym, then go across the road to the pool and practice strokes for another hour, then go off to class, then come back to do more pool work or run? It was an addiction.

      Best description. Think back on that hours long steady state, 5*1500, or 12 by 2 min row, and ultimately that 2k test. However, again, you feel you have achieved so much, and any other fitness sports made you feel easy.

    @k2477456 yeah I think we all knew that it was just like you have to imagine in the moment you probably would not remember. and either way I don't think it would have helped the other girls much because Meg held the oars off the water as best she could cause she couldn't undo the oar locks. If she hadn't, the oars would have been everywhere or catching crabs

  • @k2477456
    @k2477456 13 лет назад

    @cckat05 i have to say for having the rower stay in the boat ya'll did great but a occoquan they wont penalize you for jumping out of the boat because under FISA rules it is legal is an oar or oarlock breaks for the rower to jump out.

    I hate to watch this but it shows you what to strength and determination is. Our quad would have had first had Meg's oar not broke. When it did, Ciera, Cassy, and Collen gave it all they had to try and maintain. Meg took over for coxing and pushed our quad to their limits. I'm proud to say that Forest Park was the true winner of this race. Woodbridge can brag about this race if they want but they know they would not have won if our oar didn't break.
