Not just the oldest in California, it's the oldest McDonald's restaurant still open and in its original location too. It was the third restaurant and opened in 1953. It was also the second restaurant franchised by the McDonald brothers. (pre-Ray Kroc)

Yes, it would be nice for you to go back and actually show the remains of the Presidio and not the relatively new Serra Museum that George Marston had built in 1929 for Junipero Serra, a Franciscan priest, who established the Missions. Just walk in the opposite direction from parking lot (downhill) and you will see the outlines of the walls of the chappal in the Presidio.

Hoping to make a trip down to see the Seattle Seawolves play the SD Legion in Major League Rugby later this year. Stadium looks fantastic. Wife and I both went to college in SD - saw a lot of Pad's games at the Murph. Sad that it's gone, but this looks like a worthy successor.
