Hi, I would like to know if grounding the transmitter housing (neutral) to a ground bar buried in the sand would reduce the interference noise (white noise) caused in the surroundings of other FM stations? Thank you.

I've enjoyed watching most of your videos on these transmitters. I'm especially interested in getting the newer 30 watt unit with the QN8066 chip. If you still have 2 of them, would you sell one? Also, if you've modified them to reduce the power to the final to eliminate the spurs what was involved? Putting your finger on that part of the circuit was like adding a capacitor to improve the match. Keep up the good work! carlgret

It's quite interesting how you discourage people from buying the transmitter at 2:23 because of the used cellular mosfet. This tx is actually really great. I received it yesterday and in fact it is surprisingly clean under the spectrum analyzer. No in-band spurs and no harmonics. Just the modulation is a little wide (up to 200kHz at 80%) but this might simply be because of me not using a limiter.

16:30 I just got the 7 watt mentioned to the bottom left. Possibly something changed, or I got a bunk one, but that thing is DIRTY! Takes out 1/4 of the dial! Full power there's like 2/3 reflected watts, cleans up a bit at 2 watt out. Swapped out my 15W, minimal reflection on that one.

These scratched transistors, I researched a lot via the videos of who manufactured it irfp 260 or c2m0280120d

I know this transmitter and it is manufactured by a guy from Greece

I just setup a inverted V for the 49m band. Waaay better than doing it for the broadcast band.

The GD-2015S has been amazing for me, incredibly weak spurs, okay-ish built-in stereo encoder and audio processor, but the reason I got it was because of the MPX input and it DELIVERS - Amazing sound quality and RDS with Stereo Tool/Omnia.9 PTN and Native Instruments Komplete Audio 1 Sound Card. I asked the seller to center it on 101 MHz and with a good-matched antenna, I was able to get 21W of output power on 101.0

Optimod pc1100 it for streaming mostly the Optimod 5500 would be better for you its rack mount but its fm version which means it has stereo generator and clipping clipping is the loudness for fm which the pc1100 does have or look if the still have the orban optimod 5501e which is a soundcard like the 1100 but designed for fm with that final clipper

I just went down the same street you did with this project. You have done a good job here! Do you happen to have any spectrum or oscilloscope captures of the actual stereo generator? I would love to see your results. I know this is an old project for you but it is so exactly what I am working on right now! Hope to hear from you, would love to compare notes.

Please do an update!!! If you could, experiment with the pre emphasis on narrowband 3khz. Curious how it does with that.

I'd be interested if you can make this perform better? I use this transmitter and run it for hours at a time. I've never heard any station bleeding. my antenna is a 5/8 wave 70 ft off ground with about 14 mile radius to the outer fringe. So any tweaking would be awesome to do. Always appreciate your videos thank you.

Hey Spectraman. Have you had the opportunity to review and test the Fmuser FU-15B transmitter? would you have any info on the chip used in that unit? I see it on aliexpress. I'm also curious of the GD-2015 15 W transmitter on that site. It states "QN Chip" but not specific.

Phase lock loop. PLL for people that dont know VCO voltage control oscillator. What about stereo encoder. .? Guess its included.

I experimented a bit with MW antennas. When I grounded one ray of antenna - efficiency decreases.The counterweights must be next to the ground - but they must not contacting with ground: you will have losses.

You did a very good in depth reverse engineering job I’m a old ham guy that has gone rouge LOL yes the eBay ones stay away from. We have a Camel RF from a guy in California that imported the Warner style transmitters puts better parts in that are known to give problems and tests for hours on a dummy load before shipping them out we have the 150 watt rack unit been running it for close to 10 years with no problems and is clean FM audio and does not drift ! The site has disappeared that we got it from was about $1200.00 back then . Do a spot on antennas we have about the last dominator from Norwalk electronics before they went out of business . It’s. .94 wave .
