They was great during there season with the band.Now the new drummer took it to another level!!

Joey's creativity was on another level. Eloy is simply amazing and added his own flavors to the part, made it his. However, we have yet to see the level of his creativity. So, for now, Joey remains the best.

Eloy plays it too much like a machine and more like death metal. Joey the best cuz he wrote it and made Slipknot the style they are. Eloy just doesn’t do it for me. Jay did a great job at it. But as always there never nothing like the original.

people are only talking about joey and eloy, but remember how much of a fucking monster jay was behind the kit for a full decade... he had unmatched passion to try and keep slipknot alive without joey, and he delivered.

No doubt Eloy is doing the job flawlessly, but there’s something about Joey’s character and wicked acting on drums that makes him unique.

Nobody plays Joey's music like he did. The other guys do a fantastic job, but they dont have the same effortless finesse and perfect attack on every note. Its not just being in time and hitting all the notes, its a whole expression that involves more subtle flare than I can even perceive.

If you're a drummer and you want to make a living, and I mean a decent income that affords you comfort and doesn't have you slaving away at your 2nd or 3rd job just so you can try and "make it" as a drummer... then you say "YES PLEASE" when one of the most influential and world-famous bands in a genre that undoubtedly isn't as popular as other genres wants you to be their drummer. Plus, Eloy loves their music and you can tell how much he's enjoying himself. This style of playing is so easy for him that he's probably the most relaxed he's been in a long time. When you consider the bands and projects he's written drum parts for, or songs he's had to cover (e.g., Sepultra songs are not easy by any standard), you'd be stupid to turn down this gig 😂.

I love Joey and he definitely was the cleanest of the 3, but Eloy just destroys it in every sense of the word. He is definitely the superior drummer as far as techniques. Jay is an amazing drummer but not really the style for Slipknot.

People forget that both Joey and Jay have created original music with Slipknot. Eloy has yet to do so. Not to take anything away from him as an amazing drummer but he is simply performing drum covers at this point. Keep that in perspective.
