The Meridian 556 is a great amplifier if one is looking for detail and refined sound. I have mine for many years now and it still sounds fantastic. It drives a pair of JM Labs 'Electras" 926 and creates magic. Personally, I would prefer it to the large Levinson on the floor there..

When I listen to these different recordings I think their solid state amps sound better. Very warm and natural sound.

I am looking for an Electrocompaniet amplifier for my Cabasse Galion speakers that have 93db. I'm thinking of Electrocompaniet 4.7 and aw180 or maybe aw250. Maybe even the small eci2, eci5 or 6 are ok. What is worth, what is more musical?

By the look of the tweeter, these appear to be the standard P33's, and not the signatures. The signatures have a distinct wave guide. Apologies if that is not the case.

Got the Hegel 360 and thinking about these speakers. 300 and 360 isnt that far apart. But i read over and over that they need some serious power to get them where they want to be. Is this a good match? Having the amp 250wpc and a little out of the 2/1 in 4 ohm that it is?

A nice looking system but rather dull/boring sound, something Meridian is noted for rather like Quad in that respect.

They are sweet sounding but thin in the body. With a 6.5" woofer there is limitations. I've aways found it interesting they made it a floorstading model.
