This was a fantastic read. I read all 28 issues plus the tie-ins from the 3 crossovers. Messiah War, X-Necrosis and Second Coming. FANTASTIC!!! I read this run for the first time, soon after returning to the hobby in 2018. I knew about Laura and thought she was a cheap money grab. Man was I wrong, she is a GREAT character!!! Sidebar; This opened the X-23 rabbit hole for me. I did a Laura Kinney deep dive immediately following the reading of this series. Crain's art.... It's good and does fit the book's feel and mood but man he doesn't do the best ladies, it's very dark and things can get wonky sometimes. I feel like it got better as it went on for sure and maybe he had an affinity for Selene his most consistently, well painted lady. I was also kind of shocked that I forgot how violent and gory this run was, especially for a Marvel title. Loved it! Fun fact: Marvel dumped the comics code authority seal for good in 2001 over X-Force #116; the first Marvel book to not bear the seal since 1971's Amazing Spider-Man #96-98 I agree with Drew 100%... This is a 9.8, blood splattered, white pages for me too. I really enjoyed reading this again for the 3rd time. Laura is better than her father. For those not in the know, no she is not a clone. She is the biological daughter of Dr. Sarah Kinney who carried her to term and Logan via genetics and not the fun way. Which is odd as he's been with quite a few ladies

Ultimate X-Men was a little weird... I'm gonna give it at least an arc before I decide if I'm out. Ultimate Spider-Man has been great, end of story. I'm going to wait on Last Ronin II. The first one was fun but I'm not really into it, I'll read it when it's in TPB... I am all in for the upcoming Jason Aaron ongoing series though. Dawn of DC Wonder Woman has been great and Chip's Batman is off and on. I'm a Batman guy but... Sorry Chip, Tom King and James Tynion IV were better IMO. I'm enjoying Batman and Robin more consistently at the moment. Booo... On WhatNot! I do/will not support that platform... and that's all I'l say except Massive comics also won't get my support as they're in bed with WhatNot I read that whole X-Force run including the tie in's to the 3 crossover events. It was great!!! Really enjoyed the read

Excellent review. I loved the story. The only negative was when Supergirl says at the end. Oh you killed him no big deal Krypto is not sick anymore. Supergirl basically worked the girl the whole time so she wouldn’t kill the Heel thinking Heel had antidote to said poison. Like a Russo Swerve.

Got tangled in traffic due UNC basketball playing at home against Norte Dame so I got home later than I’d like. Watched on the stream on the rewind. Nice haul. The horror comics are excellent as always.

Excellent haul with great variety. I am holding a bag of empty aluminum cans. Shaking the bag I scream DRU MAN CHU! TIME TO COME OUT TO PLAY! Then I see he doesn’t have Next Gen! 🤦

The Gen13 movie was released for home video in VHS format. A friend of mine had a copy, and I breezed through it but it wasn't very interesting. I don't know if it ever came out in DVD. It's true that WildC.A.T.s had a lack of story focus until Alan Moore came along, but then it lost some of the edge that Jim Lee's art gave it. One thing we have to remember about The Authority, it was a major influence on storytelling across the entire US comics industry. And it was a sales success, it was the first #1 that WildStorm put out after they were bought by DC, and for a short time The Authority was the best selling DC title. Which is why they maneuvered behind the scenes to kill it, after all there was a Superman/Batman parody outselling Batman and Superman.
