Extending AI video with RunwayML gen-3

RunwayML has recently added an 'extend' feature with which you can extend your video up to 40 seconds in length. Since AI video is still a tad "slow motion" we can use this to get shots that are still nice and long but have mostly realistic movement speeds. It's fairly simple! You shoot some regular footage and then you capture the very last frame. You can then use that frame as a starter image in your favorite image-to-video service and do stuff like this :)

this is impressive. Is the footage of you real the entire time, or does the image to video take over when the fire starts? I'm wondering how much masking i would have to manually do if keeping real footage the whole time
@@Heschle this was just based on using the end frame of a piece of video. That said you can also make the effect happen while you're moving around because you can take a still with the background and then record yourself and use an AI background removal tool. You then use the still you took earlier to apply an effect. However in this case it looked better to do it this way because of the awesome lighting change on my head as soon as the fire erupts :)
