did you just walk 13 miles in 14 minutes
I am loving your videos! I was watching the most recent (Low Gap to Damascus), the comments are turned off? I was curious as to when you did that hike? I bet others would like to know too.
Thank you for the quiet. Most of the times, the videos have someone always talking.
Went there a couple of years ago while my wife was travel nursing in Blue Ridge. I was told about this place by my brother-n-law Eddie Geller who lives in Cashes Valley. One of the most beautiful places I've ever visited.
I did Newfound Gap to Cosby back in Sept. 5 days about 26 miles. Nice section but very rocky in sections
I have done this hike a few times. Nice to to a Point of View look at it. It is a very popular hike to get familiar with the AT in Georgia. A "practice" hike.
Another great review video in the series. I am an experienced hiker, and the benefit of your videos would best serve beginners to give them a sense of what they need to do in training. Even though the video is sped up for practical purposes, I can feel the leg burn on those ascents. Thanks again for your efforts.
Thanks for the video. Excellent review for hikers.
Moses and Patience Proctor were my 3rd Great Grandparents through their son Hiram.
Would a jogging stroller with big bicycle tires on it be able to handle this trail?
Yes it should for the first 3 or so miles, it's on a wide gravel path.
this is kinda cool because pole roads are a type of cheap lumber railroad where the rails are made of logs
I enjoy seeing the many old cemeterys on hazel creek when camping and hiking
I am a descendent of Proctor. ❤️
Been through that area with my horses and it is a favorite area (the bridge at enloe creek
This is such a great section of the AT. I will be hiking it in May. Appreciate these videos!
👍
thanks
Excellent as always, and very appreciated since I will be hiking the Georgia section in May. Glad you’re back, but where’s your dog?
just saw this, I must have had comments turned off. the dog only goes sometimes, mainly the easier ones. I have the rest of Georgia and the Nantahalas filmed, I just need to sit down and edit all of it.
Thanks for posting the video. Heading up to Clingmans Dome myself and this gives me a good idea of trail conditions to the junction at upper sassafras gap. Much appreciated.
That was exactly what I was looking for. You showed what the hike up to Walnut Bottoms looks like and a glimpse of campsite 36. No needless audio or music. Thumbs up!
A lot of ridge walk on the knife edge.
My grandfather buried there my great grandfather buried east side of the rd in lone grave.
Commentary???

Completely different route out of Hot Springs from when I did the trail in 74.
Yeah it used to go up the roundtop ridge trail.
Hell of a climb at Brown Fork Gap. Great videos. No annoying chatter and music.
That's what these videos are all about, all trail and nothing else.
Great video. Old A.T. route. What most folks don’t know is the trail from the NOC to Cheoah Bald was rerouted and graded in the mid 70s. It was a lot tougher. Hikers talk about how bards it is but believe me it was much harder, especially going up the Jump Up.
Very nice hike. This time of year is always the best to be out in this part of the country.
Somebody misspelled Wayah on the sign at the Bartram Trail crossing!
Nice!
I love this area
A peaceful walk in the woods. I liked it.
We're hiking Jake's Creek to backcountry campsite 26. Did all stream have bridges or were some more than knee deep? Thank you so much for this video and Sub and Like added!
Theres one crossing that may be ankle deep, but if it's low enough you can rock hop.
Nice video. Hiked Noland creek many times, as well as Deep, Forney Hazel, and Eagle creeks. Great fishing!
Awesome video......beautiful......thank you for sharing.......makes me want to go there and camp!
This may sound crazy but I do tons of backpacking and am only afraid of heights if there is a drop-off right beside the trail. Bull Head Trail for example scared me. Does this trail have an sections like that? Thanks for the great video! Sub and Like added.
No there's no drop offs like that on it.
@@trtrailguides8916 Thanks so much! I did Bulls Head and made it a good ways in the snow and ice. After the first big turn with a sheer cliff, I got to thinking that those uphill segments hiking out would be slippery downhill segments during the return and freaked out!
Thanks for filming this!
Camping allowed?
There is one campsite on the far northern end at the junction with martins gap trail. If your not familiar with the trails and the camping rules in the smokies I've got a guidebook available on my website.
Hello there, I'll be doing the hwy 76 to hwy 28 section next month with a group of scouts. I've heard that a bridge or two may be out. Anything to be concerned about? How difficult is the trail heading out from hwy 76? What are the camping options for a group of about 14? Thank you
The trail is easy. The bridge at Licklog Creek at mile 6.8 is out, it's about knee deep slow flow with sandy bottom, should be fine. The Chattooga Trail joins the Bartram Trail at mile 10.9. On the Bartram Trail section at mile 0.4 the bridge over Dicks Creek is out, there is a log just upstream that can be crossed. Good big campsites are at mile 4.6, 6.2 and on the Bartram Trail at mile 0.4 at Dicks Creek and at 1.1 on the Chattooga and 2.8 at Earls Ford Rd.
@@trtrailguides8916 Thank you 🙏🏻
Nice hike. Great views. Thanks for sharing.
My family. Great grandmother was Bessie Dyer. Beautiful place. They all lived in those hills.
I walked that section on 3/29/21 on a beautiful day. The rain got me later in the week. Nice to see those views again through another lens.
This was done I think on the 24th and 25th when all the storms came thru. Very close lightning and hail, not the best day to be out.
Smokies are already beautiful, can't wait to get back there 👍
Nice video! Thanks for sharing
Beautiful hike! Love the Smokies
I appreciate knowing what I'm in for. Thanks (:
That's an easy trail, mainly follows the creek with several easy crossings. The half mile nearest Indian grave gap is a little steep.
Can't wait to get back to Smokies to continue my AT section hike.
Smokies are my favorite place to hike. Not just the AT but all the other trails too.
Great views. It’s always interesting to see the different trail conditions this time of year depending on which side of the ridge you are on.
Yep. Warm and sunny on the south side. Cold windy and icy on the north side.
Thank you for sharing. I did this section in October of 2019 and this brought back a lot of memories. Very nice hike except that it rained all night.
Awesome place for a hike! Thanks for sharing
I can't wait to continue my AT section hike. Last time I got to Kinsman's Dome. I'll continue from there in June. Nice hiking video, thanks for sharing 👍
I just hiked that section last week, covered in ice. I'll post the video here soon
@@trtrailguides8916 looking forward 🙂
