We have about three thousand rentals coming online in Gainesville Georgia. We are an hour from central Atlanta. Road Atlanta is nearby and lake Lanier is steps from our house. Two universities and a million square foot level one trauma hospital. Rent for a one bedroom is $1400.

As an Atlanta local with properties in South Downtown and Lawrenceville, this is very accurate. Great explanation video. Hoping Centennial Yards changes things in South Downtown.

There's only two things really wrong with Metro Atlanta... the traffic and no ocean beachfront, otherwise its a great place to live! Traffic: pick your routes and moments whenever possible Ocean beachfront: hop on a plane to Florida, the Caribbean or drive to the GA or S Carolina coast.

I live in metro Dallas, lived in Atlanta for very long a decade. Both cities have some similarities, but they are different, Atlanta is more lush with a more hilly terrain especially on the north side. DFW has better infrastructure. It’s also bigger. Dallas is like Atlanta with Mateo Birmingham right next to it. Last, depending on which way you are going, Dallas is the beginning of the SE or the SW.

Yeah most of NW and SW is still bad but give it a 3-5 years we should see a major difference. But that only applies to NW and SW on or close to the Beltline

The weird thing about ATL traffic is that while the interstates or connector are horrendous, actual downtown street Traffic can be light compared to other major cities.

Let's be honest. Anything south of I20 and you're asking for trouble. Stay north of I20. Even better would be to stay north of I285

Interesting. Watching this video from Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. Currently we have 107°F so it can get really hot in here, we also have lots of mosquitoes, cockroaches and humidity. Fun to see these similarities even with this much difference in geolocation. Great info! Seems like a lovely place to visit.

I used to live in Georgia and had only been to Atlanta a few times when I was younger, most notably to go to Six Flags but I always wished we had explored it a bit more. I would love to move there.

Great commentary! As a black 55 year old man born and raised in Atlanta, a Grady Baby, I must say, I loved growing up here! Atlanta has always had something very special. The whole southern white supremacy thing that existed in the rest of Ga, has ALWAYS had major pushback from blacks from its beginning! Yes Atlanta was apart of the segregated south, and we had our share of troubles, but overall.., Atlanta has always been known for BLACK EXCELLENCE! Our black businesses were so prosperous in Atlantas early days that the klan got jealous and ran the Blacks off of Peachtree and other areas, but we just went around the corner to Auburn Ave etc! Atlanta in particular was not your everyday southern city.., blacks here didn’t stand for the white folks pushing us around any way they wanted to with no push back! That’s what gave Atlanta its flavor and culture.., it was always a progressive mindset.., with dignified blacks demanding respect! Fast forward to today! Atlanta can’t loose this aspect of the city! When gentrification comes, they are famous for wiping out cultures, displacing everyone, and completely taking over everything! I love the beltline, the progression, and the new growth.., but we can not let rich whites and corporations just come in and erase what has always made Atlanta great! City officials have got to make Atlanta a city for EVERYONE! That is the culture of Atlanta. Where the Rich, middle class, and the working poor can ALL AFFORD TO LIVE! We can not let gentrification WHITE WASH and MAYONNAISE the entire vibe and culture of Atlanta! And just for the record.., rap, celebrities, and hip hop is not the culture of blacks in Atlanta.., the culture of blacks in ATLATA.., has ALWAYS been BUSINESS PEOPLE, DOCTORS, LAWYERS, ENTREPRENEURS, GREAT POLITICIANS, MOVERS AND SHAKERS in all areas of art, entertainment, and industry!!!! Get mad at me all you want.., but the TRAP MUSEUM.. is not the HIGHLIGHT OF BLACK CULTURE and what our city is known for.., that is an absolute insult! Drug and street culture is NOT what Atlanta is famous for.., Atlanta was always famous for BLACK EXCELLENCE in business, education, and ALL AREAS of the Market Place!!!
