Chico was the oldest, Harpo the second. Minnie gave Chico 50 cents each week for piano lessons and when he got home he'd teach Harpo everything he learned. While this scene is obviously well rehearsed, it is rooted in things they would do simply for fun. Harpo became far more proficient with music and eventually learned to play a wide host of instruments. The five surviving of the original Marx Brothers worked like mad to perfect skills to get the family out of poverty. We reap the benefits of their drive and skills every time we watch some recorded replay of their work.

This clip shows two things: 1) Chico's unique style as a pianist (the way he used his right index finger), and 2) Harpo's virtuosity on one of his "secondary" instruments.

They made it look so easy. Chico obviously, but even Harpo on the piano had an understated ability that you could easily miss, look at 2:00 -- absolute legends, the whole family.
