They actually can’t sing live that well. The recorded songs were a mix of 8 layered voices. Rob and Fab could sing better live and they often did when playback failed.

I thought it was John Davis and Brad Howell that did the lead voices of Fab and Rob? Charles was another studio.

We know now that Fab is actually a very talented singer (sadly, we'll never know how good Rob could have been.) There should have been 2 versions.

Charles Shaw seems like such a fun person to be with, and an unbelievable great singer.
