Yoooo just bought a multi color gameboy 😎 can’t wait to get it!

I'm just getting into soldering specifically to do this mod actually - I am using my dad's older soldering equipment, but with some new smaller tips - however I don't have access to a hot air tool. Every tutorial of this mod, or any surface mount chip removal/reinstall, uses the hot air tools - is it an actual necessity? Or can it be done with a soldering iron? And if so, how? Can you just add more flux and solder to the joints and get it super liquid, and lift the chip?

I have seen these boards pre-made with original cpu/ram chips.

Hey yo Jake , love the channels, love your work. I know you're not a shell trim guy. For my money, a set of files is the way to go. I think a set of jewelers files is like 12 bucks. 5 or 6 different files in a set. Pretty easy, pretty quick, and the different styles in the set let ya get very precise corners . Just a thought. Keep up the good work and thanks for doing what you do 🤘

i mean just get the remakes bro i was like you making excuses but i realized the remakes jak and daxter hd remake is 1080p 720 p all the bugs been patched . but yea also remakes dont require multiple discs too there cheaper than the original ps2 games somtimes the ps2 games are cheaper yes but missing manual so i learn too live with the remakes . i upgrade my ps2 games too ps3 or ps4 i still keeping my ps2 games . also you can jail break any ps3 i use a ps3 slim and jail break it i can play ps2 games you dont need a backwards compatible ps3 anymore

You have way too much wire coming off the Pico boot. No wonder it doesn't work
