Paddling South Fork Zumbro River: 90th Ave SW to Salem Creek/County Road 15 SW
Просмотров 2322 года назад
This is a 6-mile route on the South Fork Zumbro River from the 90th Ave SW bridge to the Salem Creek/County Road 15 SW bridge. The route was drop dead gorgeous, however the log jams were numerous enough to make this route a bit of a pain. Two log jams were more than 30-feet long, and I had to drag my canoe through the woods to get around them.

A beginner friendly, accessible, and beautiful paddling experience in Rochester, Minnesota. Only a short drive from downtown, the river is mostly undeveloped and you will feel like you are out in the wilderness. You’ll see wildlife and enjoy great fishing, while still being close to civilization. You’ll finish the trip at a man-made lake and county park. Time: 1.5 to 2 hours Miles Paddled: 5 mi...

This is a challenging 16-mile canoe route through the North Branch of the Whitewater River in southeastern Minnesota. Plan for 7 or more hours of paddling - you will be rewarded with amazing views of a picturesque river valley through rugged terrain and likely decent trout fishing. The route starts at Carley State Park and ends in Elba, Minnesota, near Whitewater State Park. Even with patience ...

Thanks for the review. I have scouted this section, but it did not look doable due to regular low water conditions and the multiple portage potential. It looks like a very beautiful area so I will keep my eye on the gauge and possibly do this in the future, thanks again, Don

So cool you are scouting it! It truly was beautiful but there was no way out until the end, due to the very high bluffs and undeveloped area. I did this trip on April 19, 2022 if you'd like to check the water gauge records.

So sweet when she prefaces the song with “I wrote this just for you!” to the children. All aboard! All aboard the train! 🚂

When I heard that train whistle while sobbing in the audience, I thought I was tripping for a second, and couldn't see through the tears!

Note your Google maps link doesn't work? What depth did you do the trip at? If you don't know the depth, do you know the date of the trip?

Thanks for the comment Aaron - I did this trip on April 19, 2022. Let me know what you find out about water levels! It would be interesting to compare that day to the average. DEFINITELY reply back if you do this route. It was a gem, but challenging.
