How to Prepare for the MMI: 10 Expert Strategies
How do you prepare for the MMI?

The typical format of the MMI is that you rotate through a series of different “stations.“ At each station, you meet with a different interviewer who evaluates your performance. Each station is centered around a different prompt, and your goal is to respond to that prompt.
If you read the websites of multiple medical schools, some will tell you that there is no way to prepare for an MMI. In other words, “just relax, be yourself, and do your best.“ We disagree. Can you predict which prompts will be used i...

    Thank you! This helps narrow down the options for how to respond. Though, one of the practice questions boiled was “you are stranded on an island with four other survivors. How do you survive? How do you stay hopeful? Your shelter is destroyed by the high winds. What should you do?” It was very odd.

    🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 01:12 🔄 *Reform questions in CASPer exams require a systemic approach, looking beyond individuals to identify policy changes that can prevent similar situations in the future.* 02:08 📊 *To answer a reform question effectively, consider three key elements: gather information from stakeholders, define clear goals for the policy, and tie your response back to the given scenario.* 03:38 🕒 *Keep responses concise, as you have about 90 seconds for a typed answer in the CASPer exam. Focus on the most impactful points rather than providing extensive details.* 04:48 🎯 *Clearly articulate your goals for the policy, balancing medical care, security, and support for patients and their families.* 06:16 📋 *In a typed response, illustrate your approach with practical steps, such as surveying stakeholders and ensuring the clear visibility of the policy to address concerns raised in the scenario.* Made with HARPA AI

    Thank you for this video! How many words per minute should we strive for?

    • @md2bpremed980
      @md2bpremed980 2 года назад

      Great question, don’t really have guidelines on words per minute, it’s more about organizing your thoughts and getting them down efficiently. But the faster typist definitely have an advantage.

    How is this response? I did this in 1 min and 30 sec I would approach Daphne and tell her that Natalie may financial issues and as a result is not able to pay. Or perhaps something traumatic has happened in her life, such as the death of a parent. I would tell daphne that we cannot blame her because it may ruin their friendship. I would also help daphne to see if there is a refund policy, or help daphne get in touch with the home owner to see if they are able to provide a refund or even a partial refund.

      Nice work offering potential solutions! Would be even better to confirm with Natalie about her reasons, but good work typing this much with the time constraints.

      @@md2bpremed980 When Daphe cames to me I would first assess more solutions in both alleviate the financial issues and the situation with Natalie. If Natalie is just simply changed her mind. I would suggest Daphe to see if there is a potential to find other partners to go with her if she is ok with it, or I will help her to find out the refund policies to get her rental deposit back. In a worst scenarios, she can take a trip along while I keep her in contact. ( 1 minutes answer)

    What do you think of writing the test prep questions in a bit of a longer time-period at first and then slowly shortening the time period as you go?

    • @md2bpremed980
      @md2bpremed980 2 года назад

      That’s definitely a great strategy for practicing, since one of the hardest things about the CASPer is definitely finishing in such a short time.
