That young bloke has either used a blade quite a bit or is a fast learner. Very few tractors have that down force on the 3pl. Would be great rather than just extending the top link - to increase the bite. But did notice the loss of traction as you would expect. I have a longer and stronger than standard top link that I built ( 50 shs with 40 shs sliding together with a holes and bolt for a pin to give adjustment of length) this longer top link increases the angle of attack of the blade more than a standard top link and makes it bite in - giving more traction !! -

After many jobs with a grader blade (I couldn’t afford another machine) I finally acquired a hydraulic cylinder that was rigged to go in one of the “adjustable” positions of the blade ie top link, angle or off set. A real game changer when creating drains or crowning tracks etc.

Did you notice a an increased towing effort the tractor had when towing forward and less in reverse?

Are you taking in and out of 4WD? - IMHO I would just leave it in 4WD to do this job and only use 2nd to travel to the job and home. I’m going down to the local Lovol dealer see what deal he will offer on the Lovol 40hp.

So, does it uses the linkages to go up and down ?

Here is a tip for you before you break the front axle in half - when doing loader/bucket work where loading is concentrated over the front axle, this weight should be counter-balanced with weight added to the rear of the machine. If you do not have a dedicated counter weight, then use the heaviest implement you have available and place that on the 3-point linkage. You will notice a marked improvement in traction and ability to dig in AND it off-sets the load placed on the front axle, wheels and tyres. Front-end loader work 1.01!!

It has wheel weights to counter act the bucket weight 👍

@@grahamharris5223hey I'm no expert but my understanding is that rear wheel weights will help with rear traction, and might help stop the rear end lifting with a heavy load in the front bucket. But what trickster says is correct. Think of the tractor like a see-saw. The pivot point is the rear axle. Weight behind the rear axle takes load off the front axle as it is behind the pivot point. Without balast behind the rear axle the front axle has to hold the load.

Agree with trickster IMHO and from experience a rear 3PL mounted counter weight helps tremendously when doing loader work and helps take some of the strain off the front axle

Hey mate, I started looking at these and was surprised to see you had one, surprised you didn’t buy a Mahindra.😂 quick question mate, all the specs for the 40hp say they have diff lock but no review I’ve watched mentions it. Great videos, they’ve helped me decide to go with the Trident instead of UHI.

Thanks mate. I priced out a mahindra, but for the same price I only got a glorified lawn mower with no roof and no implements. And after dealing with mahindra in car form, I certainly didn't want to put up with their bull crap in tractor form. Thanks for watching. Much appreciated 🙏 👍

How have you found your 55? I'm looking at one too but there aren't enough reviews to decide between Trident, UHI or AGKing, they're all pretty much the same gear. Trident having their bucket controls where they are is the only reason I'm giving them preference. Any feedback would be appreciated mate, cheers.

@@MyTMo-f1v So far so good, I have around 30hr on it and its been great. you would need to go over the tractor when it arrives as there were a few loose bolts and the tyres were inflated to 50lb which is unreal as 20 is heaps it nearly bounced me off the seat lol. The tractor itself is solid and the motor is strong. The attachments are good but take a lot of assembly and setting up to get them right. The slasher is great and so is the backhoe, the blade is OK and I haven't tried the post hole borer yet. The 4 way bucket is brilliant and because of the controls being in the right place is easy to operate, like all heavy equipment if you look after it and don't do stupid jobs that it's not meant for it should last a life time. I couldn't be more pleased with mine , I'm glad I went for the 55 it has heaps of power and does it east. Cheers. PS pallet forks and bail forks are handy as well
