Salaam ikhwan, can you please make a video on forex trading with an open mind in’sha’allah. These are the points I have: 1. Isn’t Forex trading gambling? - A simple answer, no. * Just like any business venture, one must do their own due diligence and enter any kind of business venture with a plan and risk management in place. For example, if an individual decides to open up a shop without any research/risk management this is classed as a ‘gamble’. * Forex trading is also known as currency exchange. Any person travelling to a foreign country must partake in this. 2. “In order for a business transaction to be permissible, the exchange must be done hand to hand.” * We live in a society where the digital world has advanced and when purchasing fruits from your local supermarket, the payment can be processed via self checkout. I believe as long as the transaction process is instant with no delays and the price has been agreed, there is no reason for this to be haram. 3. Ways to partake in the digital foreign exchange market * CFDs (Contracts for Difference) involve trading on the price movements of currency pairs without owning the underlying assets. This is typically done through a broker, allowing traders to speculate on price changes. My standpoint on CFD is haram. Simple. * Spot trading in the forex market involves the buying or selling of currencies at the current market price for immediate delivery or settlement. It's the most common type of forex trading where currencies are traded based on their current "spot" price, which is the price at which they are traded for immediate delivery. Now, I believe ‘Spot’ is halal. One may argue and say, “how can you sell a position you don’t own?” However, Spot is an agreement with the broker where you borrow the position and the ‘interest’ is only activated if the position is open for a certain period of time. Furthermore, spot trading offer no leverage. I believe spot to be Halal ONLY IF it is navigated correctly according to the sharia law. * A proprietary (prop) trading firm, on the other hand, hires traders to use the firm's capital to trade. Traders in prop firms usually work with the firm's money and are subject to specific risk and profit-sharing arrangements. In a stimulated prop firm, traders are often provided with simulated or virtual funds to trade in a controlled environment, allowing them to practice strategies without risking real money. They use this virtual capital to execute trades in a simulated market environment that mirrors real market conditions. The purpose is to allow traders to practice their strategies, test their skills, and learn without risking real money. Traders within a stimulated prop firm environment typically have access to trading platforms that simulate real market conditions, enabling them to place trades, analyze market movements, and experience the dynamics of trading without the financial risk associated with using actual capital. These environments often offer tools and resources to monitor performance, refine strategies, and gain experience before transitioning to trading with the firm's actual capital. To conclude my points, I do believe the digital currency exchange is halal if navigated correctly. I would love to hear your thoughts.
