Thunderer we cross river on log jam by ice box canyon side. Then go to trailcrest.

I also like crossing the bridge from Tower. Going to Lamar. Big gravel lot. Walking down to confluence. Barronette ascent is best up ridge from ice box canyon. Right up ridge.

Petrified Tree to lost lake is great. Exit out at Roosevelt Corral. Go up adjoining hills peaks easy ones. There is huge falls overlook.

You also can walk right into Beartooth. Best to go to up past top if world below pass right out to Spirit Mountain. The fire tower is above bear maul bowl. Woods. Meadows. Behind it is peak but go up the n west small one. Mile walk out.

Northeast is best area of Yellowstone. Mammoth to here. Tower. Blacktail. Pebble. Easy down to North Rim. Barronette is my favorite peak out of 100s I have been up.

Love this video quick question. Does the town close down during winter? I know the pass closes during winter and im guessing you would have to come up the other way?

Stayed there back in the late 70's. Two more times since. All of them in the same cabin. Best nights sleep I think I ever had. Totally awesome and thanks

I worked for Betty and Mort while they were building the motel. He added the game room, remodeled the Ma Perkins kitchen. He also bought the Corral and turned it into Elkhorn Pizza. When he started remodeling my cabin out back I lived in the new motel a couple months. He built quite the Empire those years. Worked in every business they had. Happy to see the motel with happy owners. A lot of blood sweat and tears went into those businesses.

Phenomenal! This is AWESOME! What a cool perspective on what it's like to be a tourist in Silver Gate and the surrounding areas, so many activities and experiences one can have. Well done!

Really enjoyed your videos on Cooke City. My first visit was in June of '83. Curious: how many residents winter over? I heard one business owner in another of your videos mention a large number of summer cabins but nothing about the winter population. Thnx, Tom
