Go online and search "antibiotics lichen sclerosus" and you will find that people can be cured with antibiotics. It is from lyme disease but if you dont know to look you wont find it. The last time it was studied was 2006. There IS a cure. I showed my doctor and she was shocked but followed the protocol in the study. Most doctors arent even aware.
Ive been on mirtazapine 4 weeks to help with benso w.d do i need to taper or can i just stop
Excellent. Thank you.
nobody asked, really
Wow, this is so amazing to read .... finally a research program on this awful disease. I am so signing up for this, if I can help in any way, I would be more than happy to do so.

I have had LS since menopause. I am now 70. I believe my Grandmother had it also. I have had severe fusing of skin which my grandmother also had. She had surgery for it because it was difficult for her to urinate. I also am having difficulty with this. I seem to be having more flare ups lately. Have you found diet has anything to do with this? My family also has a huge history of thyroid disease and other autoimmune diseases. Just wondering if this affects LS.
As a person with LS, I look forward to results of your study, it’s a very necessary thing to do. Thank you for your efforts to know more about this decease and help people
These drugs are prescribed and you get sent on your way, with no information about how or when to get off them or what to expect. That's been my experience and I wish I'd never started on them, though at the time I do think I needed them for a traumatic event I was going through at the time. But beyond that the GP never asked if I wanted to get off them, just kept renewing scripts. I didn't know any better.
I relate to that. 20+ years later, I do the research to do a harm reduction taper , however the length of time I was on them has seemingly caused more than withdrawal symptoms. At 19 months cessation, I am struggling with what I believe to be neurological damage that is going to take sometime to heal!
*I read a lot of peoples testimonies online how Dr Allen Ben cure them with herbs and they got no side effects and I said let me try it and I got cured form herpes disease. Thank you **#doctorAllenBen* 😍…

Only pyschiatrists should do the tapering. Gps are too busy and have too much volume of medical knowledge to keep up with. You as Pyschiatrists do so much training into these medications its better to leave it all in your field. Drs /gps keep on prescribing but never ever discuss coming off them. GPS should maybe only be allowed to do the 1st script or only for 3 months. Informed consent as Stevie says is so important. She is 100% right.
It's all about money, they don't give a fuck about you 😂
Most people can't get access to a psychiatrist though sadly. In the UK at least.
While you are dependent on prescriptions I don’t find any doctor who was interested in withdrawal symptoms. They don’t want to be educated by their patients even more while these are physicians themselves. They react awkwardly.Denial is a very beloved way to react and as a patient they are mad at you.
My heart goes out to you, I have suffered with it for over 20 years, I had one doctor tell me it was Thrush I changed doctors immediately and the next lady doctor told a me it was LS and sent me to see a gynecologist straight away.
Oh my God that sounds so painf😮l
Hello. I have Lichen Sclerosis. I haven't had any sexual relations with my husband. In a long while. My doctors for 2 years were diagnosing thrush. I paid privately to see a gynaecologist as I was getting really concerned about myself. The gynaecologist diagnosed LS. It was a condition unknown to me, but I had a good read of what it entails. I use a Dermovate ointment when necessary and Estriol 1mg daily. I have noticed my vagina narrowing and I'm very worried about this. I've had a great deal of stress in my life and no other number of family have ever heard of it. Please can you shed some light for me. It breaks my heart for my poor husband. We've been married for 42 years with 3 children.
I was on celexa for a year and decided I wanted to taper. My dr told me to cut my dose in half every two weeks. I had no clue about tapering or even withdrawal at that point. A week after completely stopping I had awful symptoms. Debilitating anxiety and restlessness. I went back to my dr and he told me it was a return of symptoms and that I needed to go back on the ssri. And I listened because I had no idea these drugs could have withdrawal effects. I am now in Zoloft. So I have been on an ssri for about two years now and I am starting my taper process again!
One symptom I had was dizziness every single day for 2 years. Even now 5 years later I still have some dizziness
Thank you so much (drotsiherbalcure) for the difference you make in the lives of your patients! Your kindness, sincere caring, treatment and concern make everything better and you are a great encouragement to humanity. Keep saving lives Dr. thanks for curing my Herpes virus
Is there anyone who cares about diet instead of this poison?
My thoughts listening to this video. I didn't collapse under the massive gaslighting I encountered from doctors, for that I also can be proud of myself. I am hearing some shaming in this video which sucks. If we were having a hard time in life and stupidly turned to a doctor for help as we were taught to do, we did not deserve to have our lives destroyed all the same. My son recently went thru a hard time at work from heavy stress and got a script which he kept in his drawer and didn't fill, thank GOD!! He's past that hard time now. I sure wish my Mom had of been educated as I am so I never went down that path to destruction. It's now up to patients to educate doctors after they've spent so many years and dollars at Big Pharma Universities seems fitting for this backwards world. I watch these to comfort myself as I too am neuro injured from psych meds. Traumatic Chemical Brain Injury thanks very much. Edited to add that the Emperor has no clothes and we are on our own. No problem, we'll do better when we learn and help each other rather than relying on the medical system.
I'm absolutely in agreement with you. I, too, got prescribed poisen for pain and depression and it's nearly killed me. Evil world 🌎 of trillion pound pharma industry. They give them out like smarties and no help or information about the true damage and horror to come off the blimming poisen.
8:04 didnt know there was a spectrum, i have x-linked ichthyosis but it isnt as bad as pictures ive seen on the internet, so ive questioned if i even have it. Thats good to know, and im very thankful i dont have it as bad as it couldve been.
Really impressed with this vlog, I’m currently reducing from 30mg escitalopram to 25mg and I’m having awful side affects like stevie had, it’s been 30 days now, I’m hoping all the brain zaps, dizziness, nausea, fatigue goes, I’ve been on this medication for over 20 years, starting on citalopram, I really enjoyed your explanation and what people go through
Try surviving antidepressants
Are there specific vitamins, minerals, etc that help during tapering off?
I agree with everything but being dependent on coffee or nicotine does not compare to being dependent on the psych meds or even opiates. Being dependent on coffee or nicotine is like nothing in comparison.
It's simply a analogy to explain the difference between addiction and dependence.
What do they need to prescribe an initial dose of 20mg if 2-4mg has a good therapeutic effect as per the graph. It would also take less time to come off it.
If the country one lives in doesn’t have liquid and/or compounding pharmacies? Like in my case. 😢
Where there's A will, there's A way Thank you for sharing **Inspired**
Does having a well balanced diet and also a holistic practitioner that advices on the types of vitamins, minerals, nutrients and supplements help?
Yes
I don't know if my heart palpitations extreme fatigue, out of breath and diziness come from menopause or because I'm not taking sertraline anymore. I stopped, almost cold turkey. But I'm off now almost 2 weeks and hopefully I'm not taking it again.
How long was the withdrawel process?
@@Randompancakes12345 it comes and goes, I've been withouth it like a month ago. But the first two weeks were the worst For me
How long were you on sertraline? Thanks.
@@pcorp09 about 1 year
Sertralin takes about 3 month to get off. I took 200 mg for 1 year and after 3 months i was feeling normal again.
How do you measure your pills? The lowest dose of the drug I am on is 10mg, and there is no liquid form.
You would need to head to a compound pharmacist to get it compounded to a liquid formulation
@@shawnleong3605 thank you so much for your kind reply. I hope they exist in the USA
Very good
So should we use sunscreen on our face everyday? Even if we’re not under the sun for long.
I’ve been tapering down from 20mg Citalopram for a year now. I’m now using the liquid version with a syringe to measure my final dose@0.5mg. 2 more weeks and I’ll step off. It’s still been a bit rough but manageable. Thank you Mark and co for all that you’re doing! If you need guidance with the liquid, see below Generally 40mg citalopram equals 1ml in liquid form. The break down is 0.5ml = 20mg citalopram 0.25ml = 10mg citalopram 0.125ml = 5mg citalopram 0.0625ml = 2.5mg citalopram 0.0312ml =1.25mg citalopram 0.0156ml = 0.625mg citalopram 0.0078ml = 0.3125mg citalopram Hope this helps
thankyou for that
Wow, how are you feeling now? I've tried several times to withdraw in the 7 years I've been on Citalopram and each time ended up failing.
@@FriedEggSarnie I’m feeling good. I stopped completely on 23rd May this year. Will be almost 6 months off. Keep trying but go slowly. You’ll get there. I will never take these things again.
@@mariusd7803 That's amazing! And you haven't had any lingering problems since? I'm going to try to withdraw again soon, very slowly.
@@FriedEggSarnieyou can do it! Never give up and take your time, you have the discipline within you, you'll feel very good once off, and a year or even longer goes by way faster than you think. Never give up and be careful!
I’m doing 10 % a month but how can I get the pill smaller without tapering strips. We don’t have those in the USA
Ive never even heard of tapering strips. this sounds ideal. It's quite disgusting that they exist yet aren't offered to people.
I can say for my self it's veryyyyy hardddd from 10 mg to 5 mg citaliopram was a nightmare
so different for everyone. For me 10 to 5 walk in the park, 5 to 4 😱
I agree. I’m at 9.75. I have to taper at 2.5% so I’m going down very slowly. Yet I still have some withdrawls. Ive been on fluoxetine for 30+ years. 😩
I've been on 7.5 MG of mirtazepine for a few months. My doctor agrees short term is best. When i had severe insomnia and it wasn't working, she said, you're on a low enough dose to stop. I stopped for 2 days and my anxiety was so bad, I had to take it in the morning instead of at bed time.
Im having a hard time reducing 15mg and tapering 10 percent a month. No one is available at my doctors office to help me
How is your insomnia now?
Push through. I did. Eventually it goes away. Persevere. Tell yourself it’s not you. Ride the wave of anxiety. Accept it as only a symptom
