My channel is all about Gardening, Canning and Crocheting 🧶 . I’m a first year gardener and I just wanted to document my journey. I am not an expert by any means, I just enjoy the peace my garden gives me. My garden is named after my beloved grandmother Delores and since she passed away when I was very young, I wanted to document this journey in hopes my grandchildren will always have this to look at and remember me. Happy Growing 👩🏾🌾🪴🫑🍅🍉🥬🌽

Cover greens with a Net it helps but looks great get ya leafs off the floor of the garden that keep pest off
@@Shantell-zg9kp yes, thank you for the tips. I did end up going back later that day to cut the bottom leaves. I also thought about the net situation, just have not completed that as of yet. I so appreciate your feedback ❤️

Garlic looks great! I’ve had something eating my collards as well, couldn’t find the culprit on the leaves but I started shifting through the mulch and found a few grubs. They had to GO!

@@risasgardentokitchen Hey 👋🏾 thank you so much for stopping by and subscribing. Thank you and I’m excited to show the changes in the garden. Everything is growing beautifully especially with the rain we just received.
Wow how many garden beds do you have? I want to expand but veggie gardening is so time consuming in Florida.
@@champagnegardening5182 I believe it’s 25 including the round herb beds. It’s definitely time consuming and that Florida heat doesn’t make it any better. I’m originally from Florida so I know the struggle 😂
Beautiful Garden! You did a great job maximizing the use of your land! I dont worry about powdery mildew! My zucchini leaves had powdery mildew - i just wash the leaves and fry in a pan and eat! Never had an issue and no bad taste either! Thankyou for sharing your garden! Patricia
@@pgconnections thank you so much for watching and sharing. I did not know I could just wipe the leaves off. I will do that next time. 😊
@DeloressGarden Not just wipe! I do a thorough rinse under running water in the sink (no soap or any other chemicals). You won't get all of the mildew off, but disappears when cooked! Patricia
@DeloressGarden Oh, and you are welcome!
@ thank you 😊
Thanks for sharing, I have a few things growing in our garden. Haven't had a chance to check the garlic status. I will do that this weekend. I have been having trouble uploading and transferring videos since I don't have a camera yet. I have quite a few videos that will be very behind. I thought I noticed flowers in or near the beds if so what type of flowers and why did you plant them near your vegetables? Is it to protect them from Slugs or other things?
@@marvanyema5608 I planted flowers in and around my beds for pollinators. They also will deter certain pest. I planted a lot of flowers this season and saw a great benefit.
@DeloressGarden Thank you
I see you love hot pepper. How many plants did you plant, or did you do seeds?
@@marvanyema5608 yes I did 😂. I had probably about 30 or a little more. I started most of them from seed.
@@DeloressGarden You can have the hot peppers.
@ 😂 next year won’t be as much. I’ve made loads of hot sauce.
How far did you space your peppers and eggplants? You are a sister of many talents.
@@marvanyema5608 I planted them closer together so they can support each other. It seems to really help.
@@marvanyema5608 eggplants were probably about 12inches apart.
@DeloressGarden Thank you. I'm looking forward to gardening next year . If the Lord delays His coming and says the same. My husband and two other men builded me raised beds. I was hoping to do a garden this year, but I had some physical challenges.

Really enjoyed your video. Depending upon the weather, I may over winter my 🌶️. I need to harvest mine again also. Thank you for sharing and happy gardening 👨🏿🌾 💚
@@urbanbackyardcontainergardenin thank you for watching 😊. It was hard taking them down because they were still producing.
My plan for next season peppers, to let them continue as long as they are producing peppers. For all my plants. Lesson learned.
@@tracysrhythmiclife yes 🙌🏾. Last year I took mine down but this year, I decided to let them be great. They produced so much better after the weather started to cool.
@DeloressGarden that's what I've been seeing that as long as they are still producing, let them keep at it. Hubby wanted to cause he wanted to prep the garden for fall. This time I'm doing a good bit of raised bed and pottings for some of my fall and winter planting. That way many of them won't be in the garden.
Enjoy the harvest this side we starting with Brinjal and peppers hopefully they will look good like yours when I harvest just last month was spring
@@PlantinginSA thank you 😊. Yours will do fantastic. I am giving all of them away. Thank you for watching.
Definitely a great looking garden! Good to see you feeding the soil 👍🏿. Let's grow!
Thank you 😀

Thank you 😀
Nice I love garlic, I'm in South Africa so I'll have to wait for February to start planting
That's awesome. What varieties are you growing?
@DeloressGarden any softneck will grow well this side
I need to invest in a dehydrator for my peppers. I was just.cutting them and placing in freezer. That way I can make my own seasonings and stuff. I love this. Love the music music, watching this is satisfying
@@tracysrhythmiclife yes, a dehydrator is definitely worth it. Thank you 😊
@@DeloressGarden I will be checking some out to get hopefully by Christmas
@@tracysrhythmiclife that is the best time because it will be on sale. Making garlic powder is the best.
Hi, what peas are you growing? I wanted to plant some for fall winter, but I thought it was too late., I’m also learning this garden thing. It’s work but I love it. I have a lot I want to accomplish in the garden. This keeps me motivated and something to look forward to.
@@tracysrhythmiclife Sugar snap peas and white acre peas. You still have time to plant, they love cool weather.
@@DeloressGarden ok I will get some to plant .

I am so happy you received it and that you like the Raspberry preserve. I cant't wait to see your garlic update.
@@DeloressGarden I can't wait either. Once the they grow what usually harvest time frame or sign for harvest
@@tracysrhythmiclife the 4 bottom leaves will start to die back. that should be around late spring or early summer. Last year i harvested mine the last week in April.
@@DeloressGarden ok I gotta find some in my area to plant
It's always a good feeling when harvesting, you have a big space when you entered by the door it was like it's small
@@PlantinginSA yes it is. 😂 I’m trying to stop expanding because then it’ll be overwhelming.

@@DeloressGarden ❤️ thank you so much, anything particular I need to do b4 planting?
@@tracysrhythmiclife place in the refrigerator as soon as you receive it. This will assist with stratification. Prepare your soil with compost and fertilizer of your choice.
