Medtner's Romantic Sketches for the Young, Op. 54 is a set of eight pieces comprised of four parts (or books), each containing two pieces. This Prelude, subtitled Hymn, is the seventh piece in the opus, found in the fourth pair, and in the score is designated as Op. 54, Terp. IV, No. 1
