Got my EX30 last week, happy to learn that it comes with many warranties, including battery (>70% in 8 yrs / 160,000km) and a 12 year rust warranty.

I have the twin , my radio doesn't connect 50% of the time, and seems some settings dont stay set eg radar cruise distance, Spotify also requires log in via QR code, once a week.. overall great car except these minor issues.

I was initially told that I could get one within 3 months from ordering, however I’ve had Volvo Bedfordview and Volvo Midrand both call me and send me a manifest of cars available immediately. So it seems there are a number of buyers who’ve changed their minds and sales are lagging. I want a single extended range - without sunroof (what use is the sunroof without a shade in Africa?), however most of the vehicles on the manifest are dual engine ultras , with sunroof 😂

thanks, but that seems to be a long-winded "don't know". I theory technically yes, maybe, but as of now - no - correct? I can't find any confirmation either way. Its not a deal-breaker, but would be great to know if buying the correct wall-box allowed this as a future option.

The ex30s are already here in South Africa they arrived on a ship on the 24 of December I was tracking the ship from china they are just waiting on Volvo Sa to unwrap them not sure if the dates have been given by Volvo overseas or if they are waiting on promotional items but I have been told official release date is right at the beginning of feb I have one on order really good car. But again they are here parked waiting

No driver's screen is a deal breaker for me - and your "solution" ruins the look of the interior. It's a pity - otherwise I'd be very interested in the EX30.

Hello and thank you for the specific topic of car batteries. As far as I know the Volvo EX30. The ZEEKR X and the Smart are manufactured with the same parts including CALT Global batteries. Did you research the batteries of the other two models for comparisons between them. Thanks

I have a deposit down but starting to worry the rear is just too tight. My kids will fit now but are getting bigger and one is already a teenager. I love the design of it apart from that, then perhaps no speedometer at least or HUD, but I guess can live with that

Feel this is skewed arguments. To argue the volvo has been around longer than tesla so it's better is a none starter when it comes to evs. Tesla are one of the best evs in the world. Many legacy automakers who have been around for a lot longer don't even come close. So time in the market is irrelevant. Agree re suv over coupe, if that's what you need. Re volvos safety, volvo is normally amazing. However, we can't assume it wins on that count as the teslas are the safest cars in their class by far. You also don't say the benefits of the tesla such as software updates, software userbility, lowest co2 during manufacturing of evs in its class, supercharging network, acceleration,, how it literally sticks to the road and almost never ever wheel spins or under/oversteers, manufacturing rl process, to name a few. Now I do love the volvo, its on my list to replace my kia eniro. As a comparison I would say it will beat the very competent kia eniro. But I also know tesla very well and they're lightyears ahead of kia etc. I don't think you've deliberalty skewed the argument, it's just more of a lack of awareness of tesla perhaps. That said, I'll keep watching for your vids as I can't wait to see more details about the volvo.

I disagree. City driving uses far more energy per 100 km than freeway driving. All the stops and starts consume energy. I know because I've driven a Yaris EV conversion for the past 4.5 years. During this time I've put 57000 km on the clock. Highway consumption can be as low as 12 to 13 kWh/100 km. City stop start driving uses about 18 kWh/100 km. What you fail to explain is that speed counts on a freeway. Secret is to go with the flow in lanes other than the fast lane. Drag is proportional to the square of your speed so try to maintain a constant speed of 80 to 90 km/h.

Good Day. Thank you for your comment. My feeling is most batteries in EV's are a product of china. The rust is hectic I must say. I had a Volvo XC40 for 1 year and I did not see any rust or parts that needed replacement.

For me very very hard to decide between Ex30 and M3H.

not as advanced as it could have been otherwise they would have put a capacitve steering wheel (just need to touch, not push...). It's still an old system as in the XC40...
