Jacob, 6.5 Creedmoor with 140 grain Federal premium cartridge. Vortex Diamondback 12x40. It did the trick, but I may look at something with a little more punch like the .300 winmag. We absolutely packed out as much meat as we could and enjoyed the heck out of eating it!
@@TheAdventurePursuit I bet it was a awesome experience. Was this a drawn hunt or otc? I have thought about getting a otc for spring bear but still need to do lots of research as I have never hunted out of state. I’m in central Texas.
@jacobpetree722 OTC! Great thing about it is that if you don’t fill your tag in the spring, you can return in the fall!

It is still doing great! Traeger had to send me a new control panel a couple years ago, but they did so on their dime!
I live in oregon and love spring bear season and watch just about every video i can find but please lay off the music some look at other succesfull channels the amount of music is minimal if any not every one has the same taste in music

I am looking at Idaho Utah and Montana next spring season. I live right at the Arkansas/Missouri state line. I live in Arkansas. I am putting a new rifle to take. I just bought a new Browning rifle. A Xbolt Hells Canyon Speed LR 280AI. Now have to decide on a scope. I am want one around a 4x16x44mm size. In a Leupold Huskemaw or Zeiss scope. I am wanting to turkey hunt too. Looking at maybe 10 to 12 day hunt. On public land hopefully.

Ozark trapper I live 30 min north of Tulsa and I’m planning on going to Montana in the general area these boys went if you wanna potentially try and go together. I don’t think any of my hunting buddies will be able to make it. I’m planning on turkey hunting SW Montana then goin out that way bear hunting. Let me know and if not good luck!

Thanks for doing this. Nice job. I plan to share this with my friends who always ask what they can do outside near Little Rock. I have been fortunate my whole life to live very close to state parks. Growing up in New York I was just steps from Harriman and Bear Mountain state parks and now living in West LR I am only five minutes from it.

Just got this grill… wondering do you leave grill grate permanently in “sear” position or smoke position or actually move it mid cook to lower sear position?
I leave it in that bottom (sear) position 100% of the time. Mostly so I have more clearance between the bottom and top grate.
What cabins are these you stayed in? Going to Montana this spring for bear and very interested in that setup. Thanks

All depends on weather. When I did the trail it got down in the 20’s and I was fine. Have a good layering system and a good plan if it rains. There is also plenty of opportunities to get off the trail if you need to.

I have lived in Oklahoma all my life and have wanted to hike that trail, & trails into Arkansas. Mena just on the end of the scenic drive would be my choice to stop at as its 56 miles to Talimena State Park where you started. I hope to hike it soon. Great video about the OT,

We finished the Lone Star Hiking Trail thru hike and this is next on the list. But we wanna check out parts of it first before we commit to a thru hike of the Ouachita. Any wisdom youre willing to give out about the trail?
It is very doable if you take your time and have your food and gear dialed in!

Does this need to remain plugged in at all times? Or is there a battery for the controller?
I’ll leave mine plugged in. There is a switch on the back that turns it off and on. I just switch it off after the shut down cycle completes at the end of each cook.

Looks like another great day for you and the others. All in all some mighty fine shooting. I only practice to 60 on my home 3-d course. Naturally, I don’t shoot deer at that distance but I’ve hit a couple coyotes and pigs at that range. Don’t care if I recover either as they are pests anyway. To be honest, I’ve never really wanted to attend a TAC as the distances are a little crazy. But, It’s great so many enjoy these things. One thing for sure a shoot like that will let all the form flaws show up lol. 👍👍🐗🦃🦌🐏🐖
