Established in 2014, Otium are a dynamic five-piece band from Whangārei, New Zealand. Presenting a unique evolving sound, with smooth harmonies, funk stabs and solid rhythms that will turn any crowd into a sweaty, dancing mess no matter the occasion.
Otium released their debut self-titled EP in 2017, followed by a series of successful singles. In 2018, they launched their first nationwide headline tour, supported by Creative New Zealand, after selling out standalone shows across the country.
The band has shared the stage with prominent acts such as Sons of Zion, Cornerstone Roots, and Ocean Alley. Their festival appearances include Soundsplash, Fritter Festival, and the Bay of Islands Festival, showcasing their powerful live presence.
Continuously evolving, Otium thrives on collaborative creativity, storytelling, and musical experimentation, solidifying their place within the New Zealand music scene.
