Thanks for your comment! As far as I know, it is difficult to control SEQTRAK's drum tracks using the pads on the MPK Mini. If you want to flexibly control all the features of the SEQTRAK, I recommend the Launchkey Mini.

I don’t have a Launchkey 37, but according to the manual online, it seems that you can change the MIDI channel of the keybed using the Settings Button on the Launchkey 37.

Since the seqtrak doesn't have a display, it's very convenient to use in combination with the dedicated seqtrak app. The workflow of the seqtrak has some quirks, so it might suit some people but not others. Yamaha has posted tutorials on RUclips, so it could be helpful to watch those to get a sense of it.

Thank you for your comment! I also struggle with the BPM issue and I'm not sure what causes it. This problem occurs when I connect MIDI devices to the SEQTRAK, so it might be that the MIDI device's clock is syncing with the SEQTRAK. In the SEQTRAK app, there is a MIDI settings section in the Settings menu. If you set the Clock Sync to Internal, it might prevent this issue.

Thanks for your comment! The drums, piano, guitar, and bass are using the preset sounds on the SEQTRAK. The SEQTRAK is compact and portable, with excellent sound quality from its AWM2 and FM sound sources, and it also has a 128-step sequencer, making it suitable for sketching ideas for composing music. Of course, it has its drawbacks too. Since the SEQTRAK doesn't have a display, it might take some time to learn how to operate it. Remembering the button combinations (shortcuts) can be particularly cumbersome.

MPK mini MK3 allows you to save a preset (Program 1-8) to each of its 8 pads. If you want to load a different preset, hold down the Prog Select button and press the pad assigned to that preset.

Thank you for your comment! I have set the pads 6 and 7 on the bottom row of the Launchkey mini to the Seqtrak's Perc1 and Perc2 (I have set the shaker sound to Perc1 and Perc2.). To keep the tempo, I have pre-programmed the shaker rhythm.

In this video, PAD3 is set to the Keybed Midi channel = 8 (SEQTRAK Synth1), PAD2 is set to the Keybed Midi channel = 9 (SEQTRAK Synth2), PAD1 is set to the Keybed Midi channel = 10 (SEQTRAK DX), respectively. For the backing track, I used Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers - Moanin' (1958) as a reference for the drums and sax. Originally, I should have added trumpet and bass as well, but it was a bit tedious, so I skipped them.

If I were to set up the C major scale of Synth1 on the pads, I would configure the pads in Components' Custom mode as follows: Note = C, Octave = 3, MIDI Channel = 8 Note = D, Octave = 3, MIDI Channel = 8 Note = E, Octave = 3, MIDI Channel = 8 Note = F, Octave = 3, MIDI Channel = 8 Note = G, Octave = 3, MIDI Channel = 8 Note = A, Octave = 3, MIDI Channel = 8 Note = B, Octave = 3, MIDI Channel = 8 I apologize if my answer is off the mark.

@@algaebeats yes I thought that, each note for each pad. The problem is only one octave and only C Major scale! So If I can map the 7 buttons next to “rec” and below the synths, I could change the scales quickly. That would be amazing! Thanks anyway!
