OILING UNCOVERED BATS Using raw linseed oil or special bat oil, lightly wipe the exposed willow with oil. Avoid covering the stickers or splice of the bat. Allow the bat to dry. After 24 hours, remove any oil that has not been absorbed. Using very fine sand paper (180+), give the face of the bat a light sanding before reapplying a light coat of oil to the face of the bat only. DO NOT OVER OIL. DO NOT STAND IN OIL. DO NOT LEAVE THE BAT IN A VERTICAL POSITION AFTER OILING.
